Time Inc just launched a new technology blog called Techland, headed up by one of our former CrunchGear editors Peter Ha. Time magazine’s senior tech writer Lev Grossman is also a contributor. Techland covers the intersection of gadgets and geek culture, and is aimed at a mainstream audience.
Some of the debut posts cover the movie 2012, Samsung’s new Android phone, and a recap of Apple’s legal victory over clone-maker Psystar. It’s a crowded field, but the appetite for gadget culture is seemingly endless.
Random Internet history note: This won’t be the first time that Time Inc. trots out a blog by the name of Techland. It used to be one of the Business 2.0 blogs, and then a Fortune blog (archived here). My former editor at Business 2.0, Josh Quittner, who is now at Time, bought the domain way back when. Now it’s up to Ha to bring it back to life.

Not a fan of the site styles/colors.
Congrats to everyone on the launch. Looking forward to it. I’m a big fan of Peter’s writings. Here’s my favorite one: http://bit.ly/2d0krz
+1
Not everyone knows you’re the founder of “a steaming pile of shit”. Those who do know, are envious of your mad skills of managing “a steaming pile of shit” nearly on your own.
i like the idea…
I really like the front page design. Quite innovative. At least something that you don’t see every day. But they should work on the content design, it seems to be kinda messy.
not a fan of popunders… not sure i’ll visit techland again…
Way to much going on with Techland homepage, get to the articles already. Please Techland “less is more”. Thanks Techcrunch for staying cool with simplicity.
The design element needs a serious revamp but with the likes of Peter Ho ex TechGear guy and loads of money from TIME
the site is most likely to flourish

Best of luck, Ha
Truly terrible looking site, with no style and no substance.
Plus are Comics Tech?
Still love my Marvel and DC Comics from the 60’s & 70’s, but mixing Comics with Google and Apple doesnt quite add up.
I quite find techland very interesting!!! Wonder what it has is store for us.”intersection of gadgets” quite intrigued by this… http://www.cypress.com/
Thank goodness for RSS because the site design is unbearable. If they are trying to stand out in a crowded field they achieved their goal.
Good luck Peter, you should never have let him go Michael
I wonder if anyone has noticed the striking similarity in its design with the captivating HighT3ch.com tech blog.
uhm so is this going to change the time tech section cause i’m a pretty deciated reader and i love reading their comments section cause there’s some pretty regular commenters there and i feel like they’re kinda left of center. anyways that design looks like the shit. hurts my eyes so i can’t look at that pic beyond half of a second, and i love peter ha!
“The Techland that Time Forgot”
Time magazine is garbage
Color combo not pleasing to the eye…..
