Enjoy Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus’ rap about the reasons for her quitting Twitter, which caused quite a ruckus earlier this week, for reasons known only to some people other than myself.
So, why did she quit Twitter?
Not because her friends told her to, Cyrus raps, but because she started ‘living for moments’ and wanted to start ‘living for people’ instead. Basically, she wants to tell her fans she’s ‘too busy’ for Twitter and also didn’t like the fact that her public updates were well, public, and that gossip sites used her tweets to publish headlines about her life.
If only Twitter allowed for people to protect their tweets. Oh, wait.
So this again proves tweens use twitter from previous post..

hey what the hell. i thought it was the british kid who did that report. then there was some kid in australia who said kids there don’t use twitter more than facebook. anyone who says kids don’t use twitter are just being too general. kids do use twitter, but not as much as facebook or even when myspace was first here cause then everyone back then was using myspace. the only thing i know that a lot of kids didn’t adopt is this hi5 thing. i don’t even know what it is cause i avoided the hell out of it. from what i’ve seen most kids either do the local connection and have a couple of friends following, they open an account then they quit, or they have lots of celebrities or people who are following them as their followers. i noticed though that’s it’s different for the celb tweens because they obviously have a built in base, but then again they’re celeb kids.
No, it proves Miley Cyrus used twitter. Self promoting celebrities are in a category all their own. They usually do what their promoters tell them to do.

I just think girls of that age should speak in a different manner about different things, the fact that she chose this stuff to talk about shows a problem with her life [1] or a problem with larger groups of peoples lives [2].

dude there’s a privacy setting and she doesn’t use it because she’s in that position where she wants to or has to keep an online presence and promote herself…or some bs like that. i wonder who put her up to use the site cause she doesn’t seem like one of those first timers/early adopters kind of people. i didn’t listen to it but i read what she apparently said in the video from some other sites i was checking (gossip sites. yes i have a vice) and i didn’t think she actually said she’s too busy for twitter. i think she just realizes she doesn’t need to beb so dependent on something especially when she’s always complaining about how people like perez are directly taking things from her tweets and then posting their opinions aboutu what she’s saying. granted she’s not too smart if she can’t set up a twitter system and use it to benefit her, but oh well. i love how anyone can lurk anything and appropriate everything on the internets. lulz.

OMG I’m about to analyze a Miley rap, but it’s for the purpose of correcting the writer (Robin) of this post, who seems to be mistaken about the reasons why Miley stops using Twitter.
Robin wrote that she stopped because she started “living for moments” and wanted to start “living for people” but in fact I think it’s the reverse.
She says she wants to start “living for people” in the sense of “I’m done trying to please” which she said later in the rap. ” Trying to please is “living for people” in the negative sense of living for other people.
She also says she’s “living for me” now, which is consistent with her not wishing to “live for people.” i.e. other people
What do you think?

Twitter is not the only way for her fans to follow her, I’m sure she has more important things to put her time into then letting every one know the small things. Her life is so public it would make since for her to have some privacy. We all use twitter to become public, Miley doesn’t need to go public she already has.
If she set her tweets to private (followers-only) it would become more of an ordeal for her, not less. The gossip mags wouldn’t be shut out, and if most people were not able to see them, that would only make for bigger headlines about her doing her hair. Bleh.
I don’t think too many people will care that she can’t handle Twitter.

I suppose it is very different for celebrities on twitter but I keep mine set to private and only follow people that I actually know. Sure I don’t have thousands of followers, but it keeps my stream more relevant and appropriate.
don’t want to sound like a troll, but I see this as the first wave of twitter’s downfall. miley’s little fans will follow her move to stop using twitter, eventually it will turn into a trend at their schools and more will follow. It twitter’s lucky it will turn into a another myspace where sex bots and pedophiles hang at. and all the mean while Miley Cyrus will grow up and turn into Britney Spears that we know now (the shave her head, going commando, and an unfit, unsafe mother with a dead career).
