Ok, we’re going to start things off with a softball. I can’t imagine even Twitter cares that we’re posting this pitch deck from Through Eyes Productions that outlines the idea for a reality television show called Final Tweet. This looks different than still-in-planning television show that was leaked in late May. And frankly, it looks like a big loser. I hope and assume Twitter turned this down, and fast.
The pitch: four teams of “young entrepreneurs” battle with non-profit organizations to win a cash prize of $100,000. They’ll travel across the U.S. and live off “limited cash.”
“In this choose your own adventure type journey the players rely partially on the influence and knowledge of their twitter followers and supporters, the strength of their teamwork, and their ambition to advance them from spot to spot….. and bringing them one step closer to that final tweet…Teams will unite, squabble and laugh, looking forward to what Twitter Headquarters has up their sleeves. Twitter followers at home will live and play their journey as the teams document themselves by tweeting updates.”
The full pitch is below.

This must be one of the worst things i’ve seen in a long time.
“four teams of “young entrepreneurs” battle with non-profit organizations to win a cash prize of $100,000″
WTF?
Probably not the brightest idea but hey it’s out of the box and it screams creativity

It screams STUPID!
common … the contest helps both Startups and Non-Profits / Charity… all for a good cause. The concept may not be solid but the intentions are alright for me.
The intentions are alright? Sorry but for that you deserve a TWITTLE TWADDLE!
why are there so many angry people in tc LOL anyway just chill.
Sure.. and so is saying give me a billion dollars so I can cure cancer.. what would be cool is to put them all in a ring and see who wants it more.. and then bet via twitter..
So does a piece of crap when you don’t flash it down the drain. What’s you point
Twittle Taddle? You totally made that up – I wouldn’t be surprised if that was an april fools joke…
please let it be a joke. Those diagrams can’t possibly have been taken seriously to have reported on.
sounds just like TC50!
HA
There’s a lot of bad TV out there, especially with things so tight financially in the TV industry, reality programming is now even more appealing for channels to broadcast (much lower production costs).
I think there MIGHT be a SLIM chance that it could catch on – it sounds to me like a mashup of The Apprentice and The Amazing Race (with some Big Brother thrown in) – IF THEY integrate SMM properly and encourage viewers to interact with contestants and participate, broadcasting the Twitterverse helping or sending the contestants off course. Sort of like America’s Choice on Big Brother.
Otherwise it’ll serve a business purpose – not the Twitterverse or TV viewers.
On MTV with a few physical challenges thrown in, hello, Road Rules: Twitter Edition
LOL!
tranq gun thrown in you mean and random brick tossing at ppls heads that’s what would make that show interesting.
Or better yet… contestants must be Physically Challenged.
Looks like a wild idea to me. But cool if it’s real.

Stop posting your email, nobody cares.
Samuel, that’s because your blog or website stinks.
you mean adexcel@dot.com ?
or is that darren@adexcel.com ?
Zing?
Lol. Your email is out there Darren, just like you wanted. He he.
heh that looks like complete codshit to me.
This is surely gonna be a Twitter Show today. Expect at least 20 posts from TC on Twitter today, and 100 by the end of the week. Not that I am complaining.
I’m with @basti.
Sorry, this is one of the least creative TV pitch ideas I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen hundreds). And certainly not out of the box. Needs to stay firmly in that box, and then bury the box hundreds of metres deep underground.
Word!
Absolute hogwash… show them the door plz
Come on Arrington – turn up the game already.
4 TWEEPS travel across the country to seven different TWITT stops and come across TWERPS, who are decoys but it doesn’t stop here because teams also collect the TRIVIA TWEET and try to avoid getting a TWITTLE TWADDLE!
Almost poetry!
“And… when beetles battle beetles in a puddle paddle battle and the beetle battle puddle is a puddle in a bottle…”
Etc.
this could have been a good idea if implemented properly
If people watched I Love New York, people will watch this. Someone give them some money for this.
I misread that, but battle “with” non-profits? Change the with to for and it sounds like Apprentice mixed with Amazing Race.
Basically the worst show ever
Jeeez!! chances of making this a flop is rather closer than making any money.. question is, is Twitter able to kick this off in a good hand..
would have been better if some other plans were implemented!
Cool the flooding has started. more more
Dear sir,
It’s very great post i like it,
Thanx for it.
I’ve seen better school projects, with a lot better ideas.
Dear sir,
It’s a great post i like it,
Thanx for it.
The chances of this show making it to TV are worse than twitter making money.
This plan looks so stupid…
The most stupidest thing I’ve ever looked at.
I dont know if it is of any intrest but a easy way to check if ur Windows are infected”" (more right 2 say overtaken) is to use
“”KillDisk Suite (Free)v.5.1- complete package containing DOS and Windows executables, bootable disk creators, license and documentation. Installer and uninstaller are included.”"
Start the gui and take a look at the files that are hidden. That will tell u if u have problem.
One component hides it self as the garbage can”
Sorry if i posted this wrong. But hope it will help others.
Regards

Wow, that sounds lame..
that’s sounds great, a twitter TV
Given the kind of publicity it’s generating, it’s quite the smart move on their part. They’re getting their names known to folks who appreciate out-of-the-box thinking.
Strange idea…
Interesting idea, but it does seem like a mix of other shows.
Why not, try and live off your follower.
Everyone is talking down the show in the comments. But we all know most people here, even the people saying the idea sucks, would not resist watching at least one episode if it actually ran.
Am I wrong? It’s an offbeat, twiddly twaddly idea.
no, you are wrong.
its utter shit.
Sounds like “The Apprentice” without the good bits. Also I know what the parts of the USA where you can live on “limited cash” look like and I do not want to see them on reality TV.
$100,000?!? I knew this reminded me of something…

Terrible
Terrible
Terrible
Terrible
So badly presented…. awful. Embarrassing.
Arrington’s twitter:
arrington: ok, really going to bed now. why do i feel like I’m going to wake up to a blog/twitter shitstorm and a possible restraining order? night all
Seems like arrington is just seeking some bad media, and possibly TV coverage here.
oh, and don’t tell me i ‘m posting your tweet without permission. I stole it.
This would have been like the launch of Big Brother, significant interest on the first day and then nothing..
So it’s like a reality show but on Twitter? Or am I missing something. Stupid but there’s always an audience for these things.
I don’t like that idea at all.
But wouldn’t Twitter have preferred if the show title were “The Final Twitter?”
Tweet is just not as good.
It’s bang on … average.
Amazing. Where do these guys get their ideas from?
Oh yeah.
http://twitchhiker.com/about
Haha, hilarious.
In other news, milk it Arrington, milk it!
it sounds crazy.
“The Twiprentance”
What are you talking about? This sounds AWESOME.
Yahoo’s Nicholas Zakas (@slicknet) just went on some sort of “audition”, I wonder if it was for this?
There will definitely be a twitter show one day. Not sure if this will be the one but something will start documenting their progress through tweets.
Its the next reality hit. Not only do you keep up with whatever is going on for the 1hr a week directors cuts but now your in the casts heads 24/7.
Sounds like a stupid show, but this bit, “the players rely partially on the influence and knowledge of their twitter followers and supporters,” looks like it could be the basis of a fun game. I wonder if anyone is working on an ARG-like game on top of twitter.
geez you guys are a tough crowd. let’s all hope are dorky pitch decks never get leaked to TechCrunch. oh wait…i bet they’ll be flooded with leaks now after all the buzz this one’s getting.
if you’ll excuse me, i’m going to work on my pitch deck for a 60 episode epic korean soap opera. picture this. people find out they’re getting cheated on in 140 characters or less and drama ensues [cue music]
ok. time for coffee. bye.
Sounds like they’re a little late with this concept. Who still watches reality shows? The presentation of the pitch was very inspiring though. Nice layout and images. I give them an A+ for the pitch, and a D- for the idea.
…could do better…maybe…wth, its alright
By the hairy balls of Zeus! I just learned what Twitter was last week and now it’s going to be on my TV? I can barely control the VCR with my remote and now I’m expected to use it for sending twitters?
No.
It sounds like a lame version of “The Amazing Race”
