No apparent rights-grab in the TOS, but then, the TOS reads like it was written by your average 6th grader with access to an attorney.

So it looks like the model is to get as many profiles as possible and sell to someone who wants the information.

Must say I’d never heard of this before so am pleased Robin posted it. Something to quickly and easily change the appearance of our thousands upon thousands of digital photos must be welcomed. And I do miss the old Polaroid tinge! And don’t forget – Gentlemen take Polaroids.

Poladroid saves the photo at a much higher resolution, so I’ll stick with that. It also lets you shake the photo so it develops faster

This is pretty weak sauce, but it’s even weaker because the converted pictures don’t like like Polaroids! Polaroids have a sort of smeary soft-focus transition between the highlights and shadows, and fine details are never resolved (Paul’s eyebrows and Sarah’s eyelashes are much too sharp). All Rollip seems to be doing is a moderate vignette and contrast boost.

Are you kidding me? This is not a news worthy article. There are tons of iPhone apps that create a Polaroid effect (as well as many other effects), including CameraBag, Polarock and Photogene and allow you to post and share the results.

Robin, you must be really stretching to get your post quotas out this week.

a polaroid has the larger white space along the bottom where you can hold it, write on it, & ’shake it like a polaroid picture’ while you wait for it to develop….

I’m the nostalgic type too, but find nothing interesting in this post. Why convert them into polaroids? And what’s the business model!??
