Jajah is nice VoIP application and i m using it from last 4 months the beauty is features and user friendly interface the only thing missing is mobile back service, which one of their competitor Vopium is offering. Jajah should also go for that.

I have found Jajah to be incredibly useful, of good quality and convenient for making international calls via my mobile phone. It connects up to any other landline or mobile phone at (from what I've seen) very competitive rates.

re: JAJAH in the deadpool?

The companies and their offers are very different.

Skype is free (primarily) direct to consumer, PC-based (primarily) voice/video/IM service.

JAJAH is a platform that enables other companies - including Yahoo! as mentioned in the story - to offer their own IP communication services.

JAJAH does also have a very successful consumer service which is chosen by people who want to make high quality, affordable long distance calls from their mobile/cell phone or landline.

Why would anybody use Jajah and not Skype?

Skype has the better concept. Jajah is just another low cost phone company at the end of the day.

Personally I know 100+ Skype user and not a single Jajah user.

I would not be surprised at that, I used Skype when it first came out, but after awhile I really had no need for it anymore...

And I have not used it since...

So I'm pretty sure there are millions of people like this, who have not used Skype in years.

You used the correct term - Skype "claims" to have 400+ million "registered users". In fact this "claim" has nothing whatsoever to do with actual users, it is the number of user accounts which have been registered since the very first pre-release of Skype. They do not attempt to identify duplicate accounts, abandoned, inactive, or otherwise unused accounts, or any of the millions of accounts which have been created by the spammers and pornographers who infest Skype space. The "real" number of active Skype users is most likely on the order of 10% of their "claim".
