All the hoopla and hype, and Apple still doesn't allow background apps to run, so the one feature I need for my business - having the iPhone function as a beeper and continuously alert me to incoming emails with certain patterns in them - is not available either in its native code or as an app. BlackBerry and Windoze Mobile both have it. Now how dumb is that?

Just picked up the new 3GS, this is my first iPhone and I've had to make the leap from a BBerry which I've grown quite comfortable with over the last years. But I know that ease of use is one reason the iPhone so successful. That coupled with my office pays my bill, and IT fully supports Exchange, etc. for the phone.

I decided to pull the trigger on the switch when I found out I qualified for the $199 price, and was the first in line at a store this morning! Once I get home and sync with said Mac and start buying Apps I think I won't ever want to change- except with the quickly draining battery There is no comparison (so far) on how you interact with email on the iPhone vs. BBerry.
..but only time will tell.

I don’t consider it’s worth buying the new iPhone 3G S, unless your carrier offers you a cheap upgrade option. I’d like to keep my iPhone 3G at this moment.

However, fans of the iPhone are cheered when Apple's iPhone 3G S made its debut. Also, most users would like to put DVDs movie video on iPhone 3G S. I’ve found a good tutorial about import DVD / video to iphone 3GS/ iPhone 3G:

I need some help... can anyone please help me?

My gmail account got hacked, and by the 'Activity Log' feature of Google, I could figure out the IP address from where my email account was logged in.

The IP was 204.15.23.171

I do not know how to figure out which browser is this. Is there any software that can figure out whose machine is this where my account was opened and emails were tampered?

How to track down this hacker with IP 204.15.23.171 ?

Am I the only one who thinks the iPhone and Twitter are completely overrated? I have an iPhone and use Twitter but both to me are nothing more than a good waste of life.

The iPhone has thousands of problems and only a couple of benefits. Dropped calls, a non-tangible, painfully slow touch screen, 10,000 completely pointless apps, a 1 year shelf life (if you're lucky), I could go on, but I'm sure its faults have been documented well.

Twitter is the tip of the iceberg, for the sorry state that humanity is becoming. A bunch of self-absorbed, ego-driven cretins who believe the world is interested in their pitifully boring lives crafted in 140 characters of grammatically incorrect, child's English. LOL.

I am by no means a luddite. I am just a mere 25-year-old guy who has been swept up in the wave of hysteria surrounding around these new technologies and 'life changing' developments on the web, only to be left feeling incredibly cheated by it all.

Never believe the hype.

Honestly: the feature set of the new iPhone isn't enough to pay that much more for it than the iPhone 3G for $99.

Looks like we've got a whole bunch of new smartphones coming out this year giving the iphone a bit more competition. With RIM, Nokia, HTC and Palm all coming out with what appear to be decent contenders, I think I'm going to wait a little for the market to settle and get some decent reviews.

Also hopefully the competition will lead to price drops across the board!

Just upgraded my 1st generation iphone with T-Mobile in Germany. Didn't have to pay anything to cancel my old contract since there were less than 6 months left. Paid 1 € for the phone. I get to keep my old contract terms as well, which enables me to use internet tethering for free (it is 25€ per month for new customers). Oh yes, and there is 1 year of free Bundesliga streaming as well. Was pleasantly surprised. Probably spent way too much money with them in the past.
