Even when there are businesses that are the most heated rivals, you see rivals dismissing the other's approaches or claims. You will even see them downplaying the value of their efforts.

But what you never see is outright laughter over the purpose of their business.

The comments on here saying "make the tests free" are right on. That is how you monetize this. People sign an agreement saying their genetic profile can be sold(unlinked to their personal identity, of course) with ethnic tags attached, and in return they find out about their genetic makeup.

I think too many people place far too much importance on genetics. I am an identical twin, and my brother has relatively high body fat compared to myself. How many times do you hear its all genetics? Too often, this can become a self fulfilling prophecy, a la Gattica(best sci-fi movie I can remember)

So will google surface your genomes on their search engine? Kind of like an insurance agent searching for "find all people with heart conditions and make sure we never cover them".

So I guess don't do evil unless it is your spouse? Hmmm...

No, I'm not going to do that, I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate it. Besides even if I posted a picture of Adriana Lima you would still bash her because you have negative feeling towards me. Anyway, you need to relax and get off Sergey's balls, as much as you may like them. I know he's rich but he's probably not going to include you in his will :(.

So your girlfriend or wife is hot? post a picture up. Let us be the judge. My wife is hot and I would be willing to post her picture up for others to judge. My guess is your not hot nor is your wife/girlfriend. So leave Sergeys wife alone, she is hot!

Theoretically, a broader pool of investors also increases your advisory pool (and it's good to have a variety of eyeballs).

Then again, Brin is well-connected enough that he could probably grab any advisors he wants for a company.

Complete nonsense.

Genomics for the general public is going to be instrumental in health. 23andme is one of the few 'mainstream' companies that's getting a head start for when complete genetic mapping becomes affordable.

It sounds like your bias is slanted by people who haven't a clue about this industry and/or who are merely envious.

Within five years we should see an explosion of information from this kind of genomics. 23andme is at the forefront of that.
