We're not so many but I still prefer Google. As it has been mentioned before I also used bing for a while at work on my new PC with default IE8 (not so bad) and bing default search engine. Then after looking for some very specific things like publications and technical stuff I ended up on google book and google scholar (both are great !!). Also I noticed slightly ''better'' results with google so I switched back . It's nice to have a good alternative though !

Google's low graphics search page requires less internet bandwidth and it better for the environment. Bing's photos are nice, but given that so many searches occur each day, it's going to increase greenhouse gas emissions. Both computers and internet infrastructure use up considerable energy, even if you don't directly see it. I'll stick with Google as long as they stay low bandwidth.

They've replaced live with Bing, it's the default search on IE now - people like the staff in our university reception are using Bing without even realising they've changed search provider - this is the reason for the increased market share IMO.

I've used Bing and see absolutely nothing to tempt me away from Google - in my daily searching i've seen very little evidence of the 'new advanced functionality', if someone would like to give me an example search that could be interesting..

I didn't realize that live.com is now forwarding to bing.com I always thought Live was a portal like AOL or MyYahoo and tried to be everything all-in-one. Customers need a simple website with a simple idea. When you think "search" you think of Google. Now we also know that Bing means search as well, which is a good thing. No one thinks of Yahoo Search as a search engine. We like Yahoo and use the search engine there because it is convenient, but no one seeks out Yahoo Search to use. When you need to find something vague and important, you use Google because they will likely find what you are seeking.

So mostly the intention of this group of people is not to search, it is just to see the image, that means majority will leave the site without doing a search so no cash gained by MS (:

I have done exactly the same for quite a few times but didn't search.

It is basically a name change, as any technology is an on-going process keeping the old name doesn't mean no need to bring new ideas.
