Real time is very compelling and these features will likely be permeated through all aspects of the web-app ’sphere’ within the next 12 – 16 months so some of their investments look great.

However, an investment strategy lead solely by ‘real-time’ startups seems to have the Betaworks portfolio focus on companies that feed off of the Twitter ecosystem (who’s survival as a business is still dubious at this time).

The fact that Twitter’s community applications are better monetised than Twitter itself should sit uneasy with investors IMHO.
