Agreed. MG is in New York now too. There are tons of startups here that I’ve never heard about on this blog. Hell, it’s Internet Week here and there hasn’t been one mention of any silicon alley activity. I don’t mind this post so much(its just a fun post), but TC can always cover more startups outside of twitter(btw, according to a recent study nobody really tweets ).

I don’t think it’s so much TechCrunch as a whole writing about such “news”. On the contrary, Michael Arrington’s posts are very well written and matured to the point of this blog; Eric Schonfield’s reports lend themselves to a didactic tone; Roi Carthy’s analysis of funding is fairly interesting and useful. Following the trends in posts about trivial uses of twitter, we see that MG Siegler’s culture driven blogging seems to focus on this topic more than the other reporters (read: reporters). Agree or disagree, going through Mr. Siegler’s posts only supports this contention in an objective manner.
