the creator must make it a fully ClickOnce app so it works correctly in windows 7. should also adjust it for mono so it can be used in linux and the mac. by the look it was obviously not made in Expression Studio.. . a .net app mainly for windows with a Mac look?…..weird.

but even then i like it.. it got great potential.

well, then you could simply adjust it for Mono and have it working for Mac and Linux too in no time. and it should not be tricky to install in windows 7. maybe it lacks a digital signature or certificate.. make it fully clickone enabled and it will update and install in XP, Vista and 7 without a problem.

i have tested hundreds of .net apps.. so i should know.

ah nice. it is like Fireant reborn!!.. it never got able to relaunch as Odeo Player. this is like a evolution of that.

given it installed so fast and the way it looks and behaves.. is this done in .net?

I got past this bit, but then an error comes up when trying to run it. You then have the option of continueing, it works for about 5 more secs, then windows says it has stopped working a insists on closeing it. I couldnt get compatability mode to work either.

It looks like it may be fun, so if you have any ideas i am willing to try them.

In fact, it does work on Windows 7. It’s strange though. The trick is to try to install it several times. In the beginning, you get a blanc square window and it fails. But after a few times you get a warning and if you confirm, then the install works.

Really, insist and then Windows 7 allows you to install PUMP.

As Jim Carlton said this software is a breech of the YouTube ToS:

4 C: You agree not to access User Submissions (defined below) or YouTube Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouTube Embeddable Player, or other explicitly authorized means YouTube may designate.

The point is also revisited in a few other sections.

On top of that, if people redistrubute what they download it’s also illegal as a breech of copyright.

There are reasons most video players don’t have a “download video” button. The videos are owned by the creator, which the exception of videos that are already copyright infringements.

I will be contacting youtube about this, although I’m sure they’re already aware of it by now.

myVidster.com does all of this expect for the syncing feature. myVidster also give users the option to backup the video to myVidster’s servers for safe keeping. Now beat that!!!

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that TechCrunch is getting paid to run this article? The referral code makes it obvious.

This program is a direct copy of Vuze which launched this functionality 6 months ago with a slicker interface. Plus it works on Macs.
