Above is the latest Laptop Hunters ad in the famous series of video advertisements Microsoft is putting out there to make people proud of being a PC again (and at the same time attack pricing for Macs).
The latest ad features pre-law student Lauren and her mom, Sue, and these are the things they are looking for primarily in a laptop: speed, portability and battery life.
They end up with a Dell for $971.99. More precisely: this Studio XPS Laptop with Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8600 – Black
Not before checking out the Macs, though!
The money bit:
Lauren: “This Mac is $2000! And that’s before adding anything.”
Sue: “Why would you pay twice the price?”
Lauren: “I wouldn’t!”
This most recent ad comes about two weeks after Sheila bought a $2000 HP, and one day after Apple responded to the Laptop Hunters series with the Elimination spot. You should also check out the ‘Homeless Frank’ video if you haven’t seen it yet (brilliant spoof).
Yaaay.

This is almost funny…
some of you may enjoy this unseen microsoft laptop commercial by funny or die:
http://www.funn...-hunters-jennie
I saw the first half, and it actually wasn’t funny. I would have seen the second half, but I didn’t realize that when you click “Die” it skips the rest of the video.
Lol ! it was awesome dude.
“Video No longer available” ?
I just can’t stop laughing … gr8 video!
Sad. I still think Microsoft, sucks at Advertising.
I agree, but it’s 100 times better than that Sienfield/Gates pukeness.
And over 100 times better than the lame ass Apple ads with Justin Long and fake Bill Gates. Sad, but the Dell pos still outshines the mac.
“I’m a Mac, and I cry like a bitch”.
Where did you get the character was supposed to be Bill Gates? Is the other one supposed to be Jobs?
So…..
Microsoft is spending millions in ads showing people doing….
…what 92% of computer buyers do?
Mmmmm?
If the mayority of computer buyers are buying a PC with Windows software, how does buying a PC makes me “cool”, or “different”?
If I buy a MAC, as only 8% of computer buyers are doing now….isn’t that being “different”, “not following the crowd”, maybe even “cool”???
An ad of people doing what I see everyday in Best Buy…is supposed to inspire me?
Why not using Angelina Jolie in a LARA CROFToutfit….actually playing TOMB RAIDER on a Dell???
Oh, right…..Angeline owns a MAC.
Dont explain .. mac is “cool” .. have fun with right clicks
right clicks.. yep do it all the time on my macbookpro trackpad yes u can right click on any mac easy asjust we dont need a separate button
You mean the one on the right?
Oh…
More marketing strategy numbers:
Men are pigs – 100% true
70% of computer buyers are male
Male buyers are 56% more willing to buy a product if a hot girl is included in the ad.
Females are 28% more willing to buy a product if a hot girl is included in the ad. (go figure!)
71% of computer owners have used them to watch porn. (45% have been caught by their “significant other”).
Fry’s Electronics smells 92% worst than Best Buy.
Only 22% of the females “Geniuses” employed in Apple stores are actually hot (only 2% of men).
Conclusion – Men are pigs…
Oink, oink…
LOL
100% sure tostada-man smells like a burrito.
Lauren is hot, which made me almost want to buy a pc.
Almost…
Almost? Im throwing out my macbook this instant and buying a dell in hopes that lauren will lavish me with all her rockin bod has to offer.
I think it is a great ad. Microsoft is being honest and attacking Apple in a proper way. On the other hand, Apple resorts to trash talking and innuendo in their ads (I know plenty of people who have had viruses, crashes, and headaches on a Mac). Whatever. I don’t really care. If you are dumb enough to spend twice the price for a Mac so be it. It’s your money.
I’ll leave the Mac vs. PC discussions to the rest of the readers voicing their opinions in this comment thread, but I most definitely agree that these are great ads for Microsoft.
What viruses? to this date there are no viruses out there for macs. Macs are all about the build quality, customer service (genius bar) and ease of use. That’s what you pay for. If you know how to fix a pc when shit goes wrong then buy a pc, for everyone else a mac is the best value.
(However I am a mac owner and I’m A+,Network+ and CCNA certified)
You’re assuming the options are Mac or a PC with Windows. I think there are plenty of cases where a PC with an OS like Ubuntu provides the best value for money.
oh wait..then why does apple sell 3rd party antivirus and security software for mac on their own website…? http://store.ap...tware/utilities
because a mac can pass on a PC virus without itself becoming infected.
there are a couple trojans but no viruses for the mac.
So we can filter out the viruses in the email sent to us by Windows users.
Malware for the Mac (only the cool and elite ones of course) was in the news recently:
http://www.cnn....rst.mac.botnet/
And…as secure as you may think your Mac (or Linux distro) is by default, if the bad guys can trick you into doing what they want (i.e. installing a program with your consent that contains a hidden malicious payload), it’s game over.
Macs will become more of a target for Malware writers as the user base increases because the financial incentive will be there. This of course will be a double negative for the Mac fan club: more people ruins the exclusive brand and the bogus “immune to viruses” claim will be laughable.
You guys have been predicting Mac viruses for years and years….and they never show.
Why don’t you just write a Mac virus already if they are so vulnerable??
Yeah…that’s what I thought.
@Poopy
uuhhh….did you follow the link I provided to the CNN article?
There are a few thousand Mac computers being controlled by a command and control server probably somewhere in China. This is happening right NOW. But as the article points out, the danger is not from a network worm, which can spread without user permission. A Mac computer can only be infected with this trojan if the user grants it permission, which thousands of Mac users did when they tried to install a pirated version of iLife. However, I’m sure this won’t happen again. Macs are secure and immune from malware and no other user would ever be fooled into downloading pirated copies of software (music, pictures or videos either). Mac users are super smart–they won’t ever be tricked again.
Joe (@j_gonz)
(However I am a mac owner and I’m A+,Network+ and CCNA certified)
What you’re trying to say is you’re an idiot.
I would have left off the whole A+ & Network+ thing. CCNA is almost a joke too.
LOL.
It’s all laughable. He is advertising the fact that he doesn’t have a degree, but instead paid to be trained on something that he could have learned for free at the public library. He forgot to mention that he wears his cell phone on his belt.
People who believe that OSX is immune from virus attacks don’t know how operating systems work. Microsoft is a prmary target because they dominate the market. Also, all those virus authors a just frustrated by the fact that they paid for 4 years of college to study unix (a total waste of money), because they weren’t smart enough to handle the electrical engineering curriculum.
Everyone I’ve met at a Genius Bar so far has been an insufferable douche. They are the wannabe braniac versions of the comic book store guy or the video rental clerk. And their basic response to any requst to fix a malfunctioning iPod is to claim that “it got wet”.
Honest.. actually there accounting is very flawed and if yo ook into the pricing on the ads they are way off. They add things to the Mac that are not needed and delete things from the PC. Has no one ever heard of TCO Total Cost Of Ownership. Resale value? Obviously not the average buying loks at what they pay up front at the store and miss what they pay over the next 5 years. Spec for Spec its an interesting exercise so this series of adverts are squewed price wise and dont tell a true unbiased accurate storey. The one about 30,000 to fill an ipod is a joke. No one I mean no one has spend 30,000 on filling their iPod..
MS has always been a company that twists the truth. Apple is in no way perfect but honest.. I think not.
Apple, honest? Have you seen a single “I’m a Mac” ad? There was also the “G3 processors are twice as fast than Intel”, then they switch to Intel and say they are now twice as fast as their previous processors? I could go on, but everyone ignores long posts.
Is that the Best Buy on Geary in San Francisco?
It appears that way but it’s not.
why would you pay twice the price?
…cos, you get what you pay for.
pay me i will get a MAC
Because they drank the magic Kool-Aid
Interesting that there is finally a model made by a company other than HP is the purchased product. I was wondering if the campaign was a joint Microsoft / HP production.
they sold a sony in a different ad too. pay attention.
I’d let Lauren lay down the law on me.
Lauren is the hottest so far.
I like the I’m a law student so it has to be portable bit.
jeez you need freaking silverlight to watch that stuff over at microsoft.com
What? You’re kidding me? Well I never….who’d have guessed it. Silverlight, on a MICROSOFT site you say? Whatever next?
That is MADNESS,i tell you!
Silverlight is great. Never crashed for me, even in beta. Flash on the other hand…
Never crashes? Silverlight?
That is correct!
Because….the freakin’ browser becomes dead slow and freezes….no crash…just freeze
Sounds like you have browser issues. I have deployed Silverlight to my entire company, and zero issues.
Just download Silverlight already! That way, the next time you need it, you won’t have to complain about it! It only takes 30 seconds, which is less time than you spent posting your complaint.
Thanks…I’ll pass.
And can you believe it?
You need Quicktime ot watch the videos on Apple.com!
Madness!
Hehe. Now if there is a program that crashes, Quicktime certainly takes the cake.
Anyone have any idea which Dell they’re buying, exactly?
Never mind, it was on the Laptop Hunters website, post updated.
Is it just me, or is Microsoft almost doing itself a disfavor by creating ads that directly name and attack Mac. A lot of people don’t know or understand what a Mac is. Is this giving Mac some sort of validation by Microsoft showing them as a direct competitor in the mainstream?
While I don’t find these ads very effective I could see how a lot of non-tech heads would. They use words like “fast,” “powerful,” and “portable” instead of 3.0 processor, 4 GB of ram and 4.6 lbs. Its easier for most to understand and therefor makes it pretty effective.
Wait…Did Microsoft actually try to make a point about their start-up time? The girl in the as said her computer had to be fast, boot up fast…That’s a selling point now for Windows? That’s an outright lie!
Lies in advertisements? The horror!
Funny, my Vista laptop boots up fast, so does my sisters, and my brothers, and my other friends…
That is funny.. So, when you say “fast” do you mean less than 10 minutes?
Yes, probably..
Or less than MAYBE 5 minutes..
look at the mac’s boot time –> less than 1 minute
Actually my dell is in less than 1 minute. I would’ve bought a mac, but I wanted to use programs on my computer.
My vista machine boots twice as fast as my OSX machine. They are both excellent operating systems.
The worst thing about owning a mac is all those stupid apple fanboys, they’re all pussies.
Yes, less than 1 minute. If Windows didn’t work, it would not be on 95% of all computers.
Why is Techcrunch posting stories every time M$ releases a new ad? The first one or two of these were noteworthy both because Apple had been running similar ads for years and because there was some less than factual information in the ads. But now, after 5-6 of these have been released, why is this news?
This time, it’s a Dell!
DUDE, You’re getting a Dell!!!!
Crap, it has Vista…boomer!
Back to the weed, my friend…
I could say the same thing about the “I’m a Mac” ads. News sites go basaltic when Steve Jobs burps. At least these laptop hunter ads are truthful.
That girl is gorgeous. She should try out for Miss USA.
Nah…
She oposes mixed-protocols networks
She oposes multi-OS and multi-partitions on a MAC.
She is against VMWare.
She even opposes daisy-chained USB connections
She only supports static-IP port allocation and male/female VGA add-ons
She is a racist, narrow-minded, retarded, homophobic breeded.
She should not be allow to speak her mind. She should be fired from the ad and someone more representative of the real american public should be used ..
Angelina Jolie!!!!!!
Sooo…. They end up with a 13″ Dell, and compare it to a 15″ MacBook Pro? The comparable machine would be a 13″ MacBook… They start at $999.
And one of our students recently bought a very similar Dell, with the same battery. I can assure you that my MacBook blows the Dell away in battery life — he really has to tweak to get more than two hours, while I get 4 hours easily. The problem is that I do not know any BestBuy where you would get real, true, good battery life information.
Maybe, but she wanted a computer that can actually run useful software. She could drop out of law school and start a garage band.
These ads make no sense what-so-ever! Who cares that you can find cheap crappy laptops. As with everything you get what you paid for. All my PC friends have to reinstall windows or replace there Laptops every 2 years. I have friends who use Macs that are over 5 years old and still run great.
Macs are not more expensive, they are just better!
P.s. I hate the Mac Ads to, I am not an Apple fanboy, but I know what works and what doesn’t.
Tell your friends with the Macs to try and run the latest versions of some of the Mac software out there like iWorks or iLife 09 and see what the results will be. At a certain point, memory and processor will take over the OS and the OS used will make no difference what so ever. My brother has a 2007 MacBook that works like a snail when iMovie or Garageband (09 versions) are loaded on it.
I have a PC at the house that is more than 7 years old (HP to be exact) and for my wife’s web surfing, image printing, and checkbook apps, it works just fine and never had an issue.
The concept that Macs are better and can last longer is a function of the fact that the latest and most advance software generally is not released to the Mac at the same rate that it is released for the PC. That is also a function of how many macs are really out there since a software producer will have to think hard about whether or not to develop for the Mac.
So yes, Macs are more expensive, but they are not necessarily better. If you compared the hardware of the MBP 17″ to a Dell XPS 17″ with comparable hardware, the hardware is the same but the price is about $1000 less. That $1000 is what people are paying for the OS and not the hardware. Most people do not realize that it is the software that crashes and not the hardware (most times). I paid that price for my MBP but I needed a Mac for iPhone development. My friends do not need to pay that tax and neither do the people in these ads or the average person.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. My mother’s 5-year old iBook G4 runs Leopard and the latest apps just fine. My 7-year-old PowerBook G4 does the same. The only app they won’t run is the latest iMovie. Big deal. iTunes appears simultaneously for Windows and Mac, so what are you talking about apps showing up first on Windows?
Oh, you’re talking games maybe? You should get a job.
do some research…unless the software is targeted to Mac users, it comes out for Windows first. And not just games.
Challenge of the day: find at least one piece of third party software that is compatible for both operating systems that was released for Apple first.
And I agree with your point about the games: who would want to play a game on their computer? No one! That’s why everyone should get a Mac since not having the game developed for the Mac or waiting a year or more for the release is no big deal. Someone should tell those stupid pc users what they’re not missing.
And as for that Dull XPS 17, compared to the MacBook Pro 17, it uses subpar components. The Dull’s display panel is lower quality, its RAM is DDR2 800 MHz instead of 1066 MHz DDR3, the RAM is only configurable to 4 GB instead of 8 GB, the graphics is inferior and only 256 MB, it’s more than a pound heavier, the battery life is atrocious, the case is big, flimsy and cheap. What a deal!
You are just proving my point. The average person will not care about DDR2 or DDR3 and 800mhz or 1066 mhz or the 4gb ram versus 8gb ram (The 8GB ram is really out of reach of most people anyway. Who wants to pay 1800 for that?)
Battery life? I have the new MBP 17″ and I have yet to have gotten more than 3.5 hours of battery life. The 8 hour claim is based on looking at the screen at half brightness, and with moderate usage. For actual word processing, image editing, and useful work, the battery drains as fast as the XPS (I own one of those too so I have compared the two).
Dull Display? Have you tried to use the Apple’s glossy screen in daylight outside, you can not see a thing. My XPS’s screen is at 1920×1080 and it looks amazing as well. When I got my MBP, I ordered it with the non glossy screen because my 13″ MB was impossible to use in the sun.
Case is big and flimsy? It is made of the exact same material as the MBP with the same amount of plastic on the inside.
What else?
Look, Apple can continue to charge a premium for their laptops and that is fine with me. People who can afford them can buy them. It is the same as cars. If you can afford a Mercedes, buy it, but you can get the Chrysler (not anymore
) which for a while was made by Mercedes (so much so that their keys were almost the exact same key) and get a great car that is sufficient for you and matches your budget.
For people to make others think that all PCs are bad is just plain irresponsible. As these ads claim, there are options for people who do not want to pay a premium.
Notice how they said the Mac was ‘twice the price’ and in the end she settles on a PC for almost $1000? It’s as if they show the scenes out of order, and she already made up her mind about getting the Windows machine before she even looked at the Macs?
I’ve been to the Best Buy in that ad, and the Macs are further towards the back of the store than the Windows laptops.
actually macs arent $2000. Besides, you pay for what you get. quality and no viruses over crap with viruses.
i should have said “yeah pcs are cheaper, in every aspect”
I like these ads and I hope that they work for Microsoft. I am a Mac user (recently switched due to graphics work and iPhone development) but have used, and still use, PCs and they are fine. All of my friends have purchased the HPs and Sonys and Dells and they work fine for their needs (web, word processing, imaging, videos, etc). They really have no need for a Mac which is almost always twice the price. Regardless of the laptop chosen, the ads are truthful and paint the right picture about the needs of the person purchasing the laptop. Pricing is one of those things that Apple can not really fight about because the average person could care less about an Aluminum body or a screen that is suspended by magnets.
Apple’s ads, however, are not truthful at all. If you take the “elimination” ad, why are they removing all of the small screen laptops? Apple makes a 13 inch laptop, why did it not remove a portion of itself? Why are they removing laptops that do not crash? My MBP does crash when it is overloaded and I run apps that are memory heavy just like Windows. And laptops that don’t cause headaches? How is that a substantive statement? Isn’t that a function of what you do on the laptop?
Macs are great for some things (I own 5 of them) but are not for everyone. Anyone looking for a basic computer will be better served purchasing a PC when money is a factor.
Agreed, the Apple ads are notoriously untruthful. Its a straw man fallacy. I was a Mac user, but I switched the other way and now am a PC.
Why buy a Mac? Well it’s simple really:
They’re easy to use, elegant, more stable OS, better build quality, it comes WITH software (iLife) that would cost likely $600+ on a PC, superior customer service, ect ect…
Bottom line, PCs are cheaper right off the get go, but if you were to add all that stuff that the mac has into the PC, the PC would end up skyrocketing in price.
Wow, you sound like a 100% brainwashed Apple drone, using buzzwords like elegant and whatnot.
Also claiming that they are better build quality (hint, they have the exact same damn hardware PCs have inside).
As for software, nearly anything a Mac has, there is a PC equivalent, and many of them FREEware equivalents.
The OS is most assuredly NOT more stale, my Mac Mini crashes more often than my laptop running a BETA version of Windows 7. Windows 2000 and above has been incredibly stable.
These ads are great, and I’m a PC, but when she was checking out the Dell and how much it weighs, notice how the battery was removed from the laptop as is common practice at retailers. Oops.
Have you picked up the new Apple laptops? I own a 13″ and a 17″ and let me tell you, they are not light. The 17″ is actually very heavy. I was not used to it coming from a Dell Latitude which was lighted.
And yet the MBP 17 is considerably lighter than the competition’s 17-inchers, while providing higher quality components and a battery with twice the runtime and 3x the longevity.
Again, for most consumers, the priority of components and the untrue claims of battery life and longevity do not matter.
Most consumers will care about the price first and foremost so much so that even if you can prove to them that the Mac is cheaper because it will last longer, they will not care. They will care about one of two things: Single payment cost and monthly cost. And on both of those, Apple will lose every single time.
i’d tap that a$$
I notice that some people are still making the “runs more software” argument when it comes to Macs vs PCs.
They seem to forget that the Mac can run both Mac OS and Windows. You have to buy a copy of Windows, of course, but I would compare that to someone who buys a new version of Windows when it comes out (people hardly go out and buy a new computer every time there’s an OS update), and you only need to buy it if you’re going to use both. The option is there, though, if you find some rare application that doesn’t have an equivalent Mac version.
I would consider buying a PC if I was a hardcore gamer, but I already have consoles for that, and the only game I play consistently on a desktop (World of Warcraft) runs on my Mac at 50-60 fps at 2560×1600 resolution and with all graphics settings at max.
When I did have a hardware problem (graphics card), I spent a total of 5 minutes on the phone, had a replacement sent priority next-day air (or whatever they call the one that is guaranteed to get there before noon). So… my computer broke down because of a hardware failure, and was fixed by 9 AM the next morning. *That* is service.
Besides that, people make the mistake of thinking “easy to use” means “able to do less.” Hardly. Spaces, the Dock, Stacks, Dashboard, 1-minute setup wireless networks, Expose, Time Machine, Spotlight, iPhoto/DVD/Movie.. the Mac OS is absolutely loaded with intuitive features that are incredibly complex. You just don’t need to spend hours learning how to *make* your computer do what you want it to. THAT is what is meant by “easy to use.”
Its funny how the Mac fanboys jump up and down boasting about how much better MACOSX is, but are quick to do an about face and claim that Macs can install Windows too when somebody gives an argument about something you can’t do in MACOSX.
Which is why 4% of the world uses Macs and 95% use Windows and the only Fortune 500 company to run off Macs is Apple.
Vista sucks. XP is good. OS X is very good. 7 might be good. But lets not focus on the OS, just the hardware.
The cheapo laptops that are shown in these Laptop Hunters ads are garbage. They arent the same quality hardware youd find in a Macbook or Macbook Pro. Show a Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell Latitude, they at least use high quality components and construction than the junk you find at Best Buy. But what you’ll also notice is a business laptop like a ThinkPad or Latitude cost nearly or as much as a comparable Apple. Buy one of those cheapo $800 laptops and see how soon the motherboard fries, memory goes bad or screen hinges wear out. When you carry around a laptop everyday, having an aluminum or magnesium casing makes a big difference compared to a flimsy plastic case (and dont get me started on the glossy plastic you get on many cheap laptops). You get what you pay for when it comes to a laptop.
wow that girl is so hot!
and the commercial is ok too haha
Lauren’s hot. Enough said.
I’m going to be honest. I hate this campaign. (I think the underlying message is evil)
http://movies.a...80×272.mov
Lauren is HAWT!!!! YAAAY
Guys… stop posting this “a Mac is better – a PC not” – just borrow a Mac to a PC lover and let them work with it for a week. After that week – they don’t want their PC back. I did that with my father, my mother, my brother and 2 other friends and it worked well. I have my personal “Pushed to Make the Switch List” and it’s growing. And my father and mother already recommend a Mac to their neighbors. You can’t compare a Banana with an Apple.
We are all so deep into this that we forget the others out there who don’t care about the religious aspects of mac/pc – they just need to “get sh*t done, fast.”
Like: Do an Excel spreadsheet for class attendance. Browse the web, read stuff, check email online. Write a report card / class assignment / worksheet. Take pictures and do a Powerpoint for “Parent’s Night”. Yes, my wife’s a teacher.
My wife bought a mac, she totally beleived the ads. And let’s face it, Macs are totally the hotties of computing. Case study:
1. Startup/sleep is super fast. She loves it.
2. When the mac battery dies, so does it’s link to the wireless network. So she occasionally has to re-enter the WEP key, for some reason, the Mac doesn’t remember it. That is annoying for her
3. She has MS Office (relax, i know there are other options, but, Office is what people use in the real world. Again, this is about getting sh*t done.) Ever try to correct spelling on a red-squiggled word without right-click?
4. She loves IPhoto. She uses Skype + the built-in camera for the baby/grandparents. Loves it.
5. Battery life? She’s very happy.
6. Funniest part of all? The Mac OS/UI is the most confusing for her. Finding and organizing files is annoying: she wants her “folders on the hard drive” UI back. i.e. “Where’s my music files?” “Where’s my photo files?” Going through the apps to get to your files is sometimes frustrating for her, she just wants to go straight to the files. And – she often is annoyed that programs are “left running” after she closes the window. Doesn’t make sense to her (”I closed it – why is it still running? Why do I have to go to “exit” after I already closed it?”)
She spent like $1500 on the mac (teacher’s discount was great, thanks Apple) and overall she’s not disappointed.
But ask her what she’s getting next? “Windows. It may be slower or whatever but it ‘makes more sense’ to me.” See #6, as those types of little nagging things inhibit her ability to “get sh*t done, fast.”
Anyway, that’s direct-from-userland. In the real world, it’s not as black/white as the agencies making commercials would have you believe.
I have been using PCs since 1995.
I got a Mac Mini two months ago.
Im not impressed, I still primarly use PCs and Windows.
I most assure you the majority of PC users out there have used a Mac before as well, drop this “Show a PC user a Mac and they will switch” bull, its not true.
Its true, not all people who use Macs stay with them. I used to be a Mac user from the start, but switched to PCs.
Wonder if Lauren already needs to replace their Laptops Battery:
http://www.cpsc...ml09/09221.html
OMG! A Mac costs up to TWICE compared to a Windows Laptop! This is not great!
But:
A Mac is TWICE faster, TWICE stabler, TWICE more people like their Mac instead of their PC (you know why…). SO: its TWICE BETTER!
Microsoft sucks, PCs suck, and they will suck MORE and MORE!
Go Apple!
Oh yes, and don’t forget to watch this:
http://tinyurl.com/o8xvrm
A PC with Windows VISTA is a pure waste of money. Spend the extra $$ and get Windows XP.
Better yet, buy a MAC.
Totally. Reality is, you can get a super-fast windows XP pro thinkpad for ~$2800, it’ll be bulletproof and run sh*t-hot. Or you can get a 17″ macbook pro for about the same price.
The macbook will win the beauty contest hands-down against the thinkpad brick. But either machine will be just as fast on startup/operation and bulletproof throughout it’s lifetime.
The way Techcrunch is going after each and every adv of MS it looks like Apple has bought advt spot here where Tech crunch un-biased reporters are supposed to slam every thing MS
This is a very nice post!
Since when do I have to be ashamed of owning a more expensive computer? Yes, I have a MacBook Pro, and it’s a lot more expensive than a “regular” cheap PC laptop. So? It’s my friggin’ money!
I bought an Audi A4 last year for a nice chunk of money. Sure, a cheap Ford Focus or Kia Whatever would have worked fine, gets me there in the same time. But I like nice cars, especially Audi… so leave me alone. I don’t care if the Audi doesn’t get me to my destination any faster than the Kia.
I hate working in word or excel in OSX. There’s something about the menu structure that irritates me.
It’s an improvement over super creepy and annoying Shelia so the casting’s gotten better but the whole concept is defensive and off target.
It’s just an ad, guys. It’s not gonna change any minds.
