Yesterday, we talked a bit about how some companies are clearly trying to capitalize on the Swine Flu craze that is sweeping the nation. Naturally, someone just had to make an iPhone app.
And the winner is IntuApps, which has Swine Flu Tracker, waiting for approval from Apple before it’s released into the App Store. IntuApps’ Barry Schwartz, who is also a blogger, sent along some screenshots of the app. In it, you can see the current Threat Level for the disease, a map showing confirmed and suspected cases, a symptoms area to inform people, and an alert page for breaking news on Swine Flu.
Everyone is joking about Swine Flu because of the whole pig angle, but it is at least somewhat of a serious threat. And while this iPhone app may be the latest thing to capitalize on it, it’s also pretty useful as a way to know what areas to avoid on the go. It’s good to know that IntuApps will be giving the app away for free when it is available in the App Store.

how is it a good one the swine flu is bad!!
I would find the baby shaker app to offer more useful information. There are more people that die of the regular flu than have died from Swine Flu. People seem to be addicted to being controlled by fear.
It’s good that people are aware, but headlines like “deadly swine flu pandemic” and iphone apps at this stage are counter-productive.
The biggest risk of the swine flu right now is further damaging the economy from people panicing without good justification.
To put it into perspective… 13,000 people have died in the USA from the NORMAL FLU so far this year.
Now, if it starts to go virulent and kills 50% of the people it infects, then yes… panic. But, not now.

first of all, this post is about a swine flu iphone app, not about facebook.
facebook is worthless now that twitter has changed things up. just my opinion.
secondly, there is a bubbler in every industry, because we can only grow as big as the earth allows us too. the economy and humanity answer to a higher power, the ecosystem. until we can effectively travel in space, this will always be the case.
think about what you are posting as a comment before you post so you dont embarrass yourself. believe me i have done that before in other comments and they come back to haunt you.
i thought there would be an iphone app for this, it was just a matter of time..
we were working on a similar app for a customer while this news was released. good job guys. will see how fast Apple approves this.

I know of a similar app that was submitted to Apple several days ago. I think there will be a dozen similar apps soon.

10. Declare Mexico a “terrorist state”, start Gulf War-III (in he Gulf of Mexico).
I have had an app submitted for this a few days. Man, I totally forgot to email techcrunch about my totally not-live app.
