Personally, I use Gmail far more, though I maintain a yahoo account and a live account. There was a time that Yahoo Mail was way inferior to GMail, but they’ve greatly improved the product and it’s probably just as good a product. But not better. Different and more traditional, definitely.

I do find Gmail still has better spam filters.

Definitely shows how old you are. I don’t care if your umbilical cord was actually a Cat. 5 Ethernet cable. Has nothing to do with how well you understand Internet. Oh, wait! I spoke too soon. You definitely got that one right. I used a bad Internet service to post the mail using Yahoo. And used a good one to post one using GMail. Thanks for the tip!

BTW, the email sent using Yahoo still hasn’t arrived. May be they are only interested in keeping their old(er) users.

While you are at it, let’s try functionality also. Try to send an email from Yahoo to one of other accounts. I did and am still waiting (15 mins) for the message to arrive. Did the same with GMail. Immediately there! within seconds.

I don’t care which one except that most of the spam that uses a major provider’s name says Gmail or Googlemail. Based on that and the poo I dealt with, the phony ‘invitation’ scheme and Google’s general level of disaffectation and incompetence (and search that has been much worse since 2001-02 but I still use it) I just get tired of Google.

I, in fact, prefer GMail to my desktop mail software. And last I check 90% of my friends have migrated from other email services to GMail. The rest 10% are still living the hard life, searching for related messages in their inbox, and turning green every time I tell them about a new GMail feature.
