In an effort to spread the word about its Chrome browser, Google commissioned 11 short videos about the browser. My two favorites are below.
I think the first one could actually be used as a TV commercial. It wins for best use of color. And the tune is catchy—makes me want to buy a Chrome browser. Wait, I forgot. It’s free.
The second one is just funny. Men in tights always are. See how they blend into the background? Just like the browser does.

Those are cool. When is Chrome coming for the Mac?
I’m running it (and I’m not talking about the Crossover port) right now on my mac..
It’s still a tad buggy at the moment though.
how + where = please
I can’t link to the exact same copy I have, however here is a link to a chromium (the Development version of Chrome) build, it’s basically identical:

(P.S. I’m linking to the second comment, not that blog post.)
Wow, the first ad looks like it came straight from Apple.
It does, the music helps to make that association too.
Yeah, I think that’s what does it. The visuals are probably a little more chaotic than what Apple would use.
Too bad Google doesn’t actually do TV ads. Ever.
I like the retro flip effect at the end. Reminds me of an old arrival/departure board at an airport.
or like a gambling machine – three cherries in a row anyone
Very apple-esque, indeed. Who wants to buy an iPod?
I do!
More like a Apple/Zune Commercial.
The first commercial is pure gold! I want to see that as a commercial.
Enough with the browsers already!
I sure wish they’d run these campaigns/commercials on broadcast TV.
Maybe this would help push the general population (lazy net users) to use better browsers and in turn help all web designers/developers!
With Google’s marketing and cool factor, its just a matter of time before Chrome becomes a major browser and we start buying our water from Google.
I hate apple fans! they thinks that everything pretty out there is has to be made by apple…
Why so much anger?
Wow that first ad is beautiful, must of taken a loooong time to make.
Cool videos! I also like the first one, it emphasizes the colors feature of Google Chrome.
Any idea what agency did these – very good stuff
I love the new commercials, and would love to see them on TV.
This commercial is okay, this ones better http://www.yout...h?v=8406VybseN8
the first one smells so apple; very creative, google -_-
Spill it Google. When do we get the GoogleOS laptop?
I like the videos. Before they make a marketing push, they should fix some obvious bugs in Chrome. I’ve used it as my primary browser for ~6 months now, but the bugs are getting to me. I just can’t put it down because it’s so fast.
Why would I bother with Chrome when I already have firefox? Ooh, I can detach tabs into their own windows. Big deal. When was the last time you needed more than one browser window? I have dozens of tabs opened right now, broken down into categories using a great extension… and am just fine without more windows. And the windows certainly aren’t worth giving up my extensions for.
Chrome is UI-friendler and faster…
the first on is just amazing..
btw: you are NOT running Chrome on a mac…
I’m seriously running it on a mac, and it’s more stable than Safari. (Okay, okay.. I just can’t stand Apple’s browser.
)

chrome is doing good with a smart interfacedesign. contant is more important than the browser window, espacially when using windows (ugly as hell). But I’m still concerned about the security (fishing …)
And I’m missing the “addons” that you have on firefox
Rather than doing commercials, the better get their addon support going. And add a Linux port soon afterwards.
I hate them. I can’t believe it’s even worse than the IE8 commercials.
Dude they gotta fix the CHECKBOX dissappearing Thing!
These miss the mark. I have not seen the other 9 but they should stop with the abstract visuals and performance art and get down to the brass tax: Chrome is just as fast or faster than FF and it’s not cluttered with everybody-and-his-brother’s toolbars at the top. Sleek, efficient, no frills. In fact I am in favor if them killing their effort to support plugins, because that is where other browsers go horribly wrong.
Google vs Microsoft: Marketing Battle Round #1?
Google starting to look at “marketing sharp” as Microsoft, even the Chrome colors are very familiar as their main logo… sure Chrome is free… free? No way! You pay by watching ads… remember? If Google needs these types of funky ads to “spread the word”
(they used to do just fine using word-to-mouth) they’ll be needing the same expensive ad agencies as MSFT… Marketing is expensive… and Google has got a lot less experience in marketing stuff that actually has a solid ROI (ads should bring in enough revenue to pay for itself or better grow the business) so I am curious to see how this plays out!
Funny chrome isn’t on the mac (yet) although they seam to be obligated in using a os x mouse cursor in the first ad. although its clearly windows in the ad as well (top right x). Or am I wrong! was the mouse black on windows at one time?
