For me Xobni is a gadget, nothing serious…sorry, but I really don´t need facebook for work, I need a tool which is reliable, clear and fast … just helps me for my work! Xobni slows your computer down, not really a help!

CEO is a super smart and a friendly guy, I have listenned to him a couple of times in panels and forums. He’s got a great conceptual vision however he is way out there when it comes to the real market.

It’s sad that VCs are throwing bunch of money at directionless projects and create foam waves where everything looks beatiful but you can’t ride it…

What do you look like foo? Alec Baldwin? Justin Timberlake? Miriam Rivera?

I installed it last night and I love that for many of my clients I can now put a face to their name because of the tie into Facebook. I can also view all of my customers emails without having to create a special rule for every single customer. I haven’t explored it in depth but those 2 features alone make it must have tool for me.

How is Facebook feed in Xobni is going to increase the email management/productivity?

What kind of a value is Xobni adding to the UX?

Facebook is already a distraction for most of the people during business hours. Many companies (including MSFT) are discouraging employees from using Facebook and “social” networking (timekiller) sites. I just don’t see the use of Facebook in Xobni application.

I used Xobni for a while but I just didn’t get why I want to see the the time statistics on emails and the sender’s xyz network profile. But I admit that accessing attachments was wonderful.

Xobni is run by great people, but I just don’t see the value. Hopefully, something usefull will come out of it.

How is FB going to make money when the stream is on other sites and apps like Xobni? Since users will be able to find out what’s going on with their friends via sites other than facebook, pageviews would likely decrease. This strategy makes sense for Twitter that doesn’t have ads to begin with but not sure how facebook would pull it off since all it’s revenue comes from advertising.

I guess the integration is good if you don’t separate your personal life from your professional life.

I use Outlook for work. I use Xobni for work.
I do not use Facebook for work.

A Xobni for Hotmail/MSN Messenger (or Windows Live or whatever it’s called this month) connecting to FB is something I could definitely use.

Xobni is using about 20mb of my ram right now. Outlook is using about 230mb, so those combined are around 2/3 of what Firefox is taking up. Have you tried to newest version–1.7.3, mentioned above? It is quite a bit faster, check out the blog post on it here: http://www.xobn...7-no-more-beta/

XObni, the perfect add-on if you have too much RAM. Plus, its regular crashing of Outlook helps prevent carpal tunnel…

You do need to have admin privileges to install Xobni (or any software, I believe).
