When asked by Colbert "Why 140 characters?" Biz's answer was that SMS is limited to 160 characters, and so they chose 140 characters in order to leave room for usernames. However, any @username that you include in a tweet goes against your 140 characters… so, his argument doesn't make any sense. So, what's the real reason, then, for the 140 character limit?
