Today, Mozilla Labs released the 0.3 version of Weave, its project that syncs multiple browsers in the cloud. Weave lets users sync their bookmarks, tabs, passwords, and histories in the cloud across Firefox browsers on different computers. With today’s release, you can also sync with Fennec, Firefox’s mobile browser, which unfortunately right now only works on one kind of phone: a Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. Yeah, I don’t have one of those either.
But the idea of syncing your browsers is a powerful one for anyone who uses more than one computing device on a regular basis. Originally launched in December, 2007, Weave is now faster and more reliable. In other words, now it actually works (or so I’m told).
The one thing Weave doesn’t sync is all of your add-ons. But that is planned for a future release.

Just told by a person within FaceBook that their CFO is leaving and burning bridges — he is pissed!
Thanks for this post. Didn’t know about this but I am in desperate need to sync my machines. This will be *very* useful.
Prerequisite is FF 3.5 Beta. FAIL.
Just realized that. bummer.
I use Foxmarks (now called Xmarks) which synchronizes bookmarks and passwords and works with Firefox 2 as well as 3. I sync my bookmarks b/w my Windows FF2 at work and my Mac FF3 at home. It doesn’t do tabs or histories but it works great.

Weave is like behind schedule. Its a while I’ve been waiting for something concrete from Weave. Well Sync is good start. Just hope it more stable than years back.
How does this compare with xmarks feature/reliability-wise?
How about just using something like sthrt.com?
Well I need the tool that allow me to sync my bookmarks in PC’s Firefox to my mobile’s Opera or IE. Any recommended tool?
I like synchronizing multiple browsers since I use a different one at the office than I do at home. I can definitely see the use with passwords and bookmarks scattered around on different computers and OS’s. I would double check the security integrity with a site like This one though.
I use foxmarks to sync my bookmarks between my pc in the office & at home, not bad.
the day it starts syncing add-ons and even better, greasemonkey scripts is the day I start using it. Until then Xmarks does the job perfectly.
I used to use Foxmarks, and loved it. Now it is Xmarks I have some privacy concerns related to the the use of my bookmarks and the discovery feature.

What are u concerned about? I use Xmarks and see no reason to be concerned
