So, these Yahooligans did so well at Yahoo! that they are now getting great jobs at Myspace???

Seems like the same old insular network telling each other and themselves how good they are.

Boring and will lead to average to slightly above average product. Myspace should be ashamed of themselves. Way to hire best and brightest!

I discover music on Pandora and favorite it. I listen to my Pandora playlist on Favtape. And when I need to hear a particular song right now, I use Songza.

Very easy, few to no ads, and reliable.

myspace is dead; their is a new myspace like start up called umakeitcool.com still a secret; cause not many people actually read and take action from comments; it lets artist/publishers/anyone publish and sell; they choose the price, and when you buy a file; you get to pay a friend, “share the wealth” baby.

the labels are dead; i worked for sony music; all they do is license old music from the 70s; nothing new or exciting (unless your a 13 year old girl) comes out from the labels anymore.

There’s no profit in spending 250k when all the CD shops are closing.

artist are doing it for themselves. labels are 20th century.

wake up, its the 21st century… we want the future. fuck the past.

I love MySpace Music, it’s the best streaming website I’ve ever seen. Pandora is good as a streaming radio, but not for what I want to search and listen. However, I don’t see recommendations in MySpace Music, I normally get the recommendations from http://www.cruxle.com and then search for them in MySpace music, it’ll be nice if they can incorporate this.

I was using Pandora. Their recent inclusion of heavy flash ads kills my MBP battery with CPU requirements.

I just recently fell in love with Last.FM and haven’t looked back. MySpace has that stigma for me and I’m skeptic about getting involved with a new platform.

BTW, do they have a desktop app that connects to the service? I hate using my web browser for a mundane task like streaming music.

Well, like I say I’m a bit biased cause I run a media company myself, so of course mine is my favorite -lol. In all seriousness, while my site needs work, and it’s getting it, Myspace should be doing better with their budget and manpower.

I don’t really use streaming sites (other than for research/discovery) so I can’t really answer that – mainly because “I’m In the Business” and I don’t use these sites like most people would.

this is blasphemy. load a myspace music page and your computer will sit idle for 5 seconds, minimum. and once it finally loads, it’s an absolute cluster of nonsense. just like they are with the majors, bands are growing tired of myspace. and wait, who owns myspace? that should sit well with bands.

You really need to get out more. If you like slowness, and ads popping up every 3rd song, then yes, it’s the best.

The search is horrific – with the results producing more songs than bands, and they hide the advanced search.

The overall user experience overall is poor at best.

I think the more changes they make, the more they break the site.

Disclaimer: I run a media company that involves promoting indie bands. Man, what I could do with their man power and budget!
