If you’re procrastinating on Twitter anyway, might as well train your mind while you’re at it. Here are two simple games that make use of the microsharing service’s functionalities and keep your brains busy while tweeting:
Follow @TwitBrain and get served calculations on a regular basis (like 3 per hour). If you’re the first person to reply with the correct answer, you’ll earn one point and hopefully make your way to Internet fame (well, not really) by getting on the top 10 lists.

Follow @BeatMyTweet and do the exact same thing, but this time with word scrambles. Warning: it’s ridiculously easy so be fast if you want to be one of the first 10 to reply with the correct answer. Leaderboards here.

I propose a TwitterCrunch to follow twitter news
Congratulations on being the first to pointlessly whine about it. Did the title mislead you into thinking this story was about something else than Twitter? Then why read and comment?
Actually it’s not against your coverage of Twitter but the opposite.
It’d make it easier to follow Techcrunch Twitter News.
I’m sorry if you think this comment was pointless.
Because it’s never pointless to address the fact that you hacks constantly push an overrated business with no business model and not a single option of making money.
Fanboi retards.
You can follow these games, live, to see who is playing and what they’re answering at http://twitter....rch/label/games
How about just following Twitdom?
Affair is a verb now? Or are they using fake hints as red-herrings?
Of course. Never said “He affaired her” as a sentence?
errrr……
I love that people are taking the time to come up with games for Twitter! I can already waste a day on Twitter without the games, now, my day is doomed!
Yet another great example of the power of Twitter to spread ideas. Thanks Robin.
Only a matter of time until someone creates a portal for Twitter games.
Again twitter rocks………….
Wow, another thing to watch out for besides tweeting..
Very good, thanks for the info
Hey TC readers
We’ve recently launched a Twitter based game called GuessTheTwitter. I used to love Guess who as a kid.
You can give it a shot on http://www.guessthetwitter.com
great news I will check them on twitter, thanks!
I love it!
I spotted this Twitter game the other day called ‘Twitoku’ and became addicted to playing it!
its multi-player Sudoku, and everyone is playing on the same board, its crazy
As they say: Not quite as tedious as Sudoku-By-Post. All you do is Follow @twitoku and send a DM, eg. “d twitoku a6=1,b5=3″
http://twitter.com/twitoku
you have to try it, a strangely compelling game.
Another reason why Twitter rocks
honestly, when I saw Rus Sellers comment about playing Sudoku by Twitter, I was like yeah right!…After visiting the like, I was amazed at the concept.
It’s really interesting to see how innovative these developers are. Kudos to all.
h
omg, no way, a twitter game? wow
Soon there will be as many games on Twitter as the iPhone. Instead of people working they’ll be on Twitter all day playing games.
Seems Twitter users and tool providers get inspired by things that were popular during IRC time. So i would predict we will see:
TweetBots – about time someone re-uses Eggdrop
Some kind of XDCC implementation – which will lead to something like packetnews for Twitter
Twitter based MUDs
An mIRC based client for Twitter – yeah, give us away messages
Any other ideas? Seems twitter.com is becoming the new ChanServ…
The same could be said about IRC copying both internet-based and modem-based BBSes, too!
All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.
I’m tempted to write LOGO (Turtle graphics) for Twitter now.
Does anyone find it ironic that on “Twitbrain’s” twitter page they have completely brutalized the word ‘respect’ (Restecpa sic) in their description?
They may be able to add, but spelling, not so much.
My modest twitter game: Lyric for the Day (follow @lyricfortheday). Background on my blog.
Great! twitter games, i love them
I also vote for twittercrunch… Stop posting this crap here please.
Wouldn’t my time be better spent playing an actual game on my iPhone rather than trying to answer questions by text through Twitter.
All I’m saying is that there has to be a better way to kill time, no matter where you are.
Please add three more games played with tweets, all at http://www.outwit.me :
Tweet Quiz
Tweet Words
TWord Chains
Another tweeting “game” is @StoryTellerMe, where you contribute to never-ending stories and poems, one line at a time. Each time a line is added, followers get a tweet and they can choose to add the next line, and so on. Never know what you will end up with. Found at http://www.storyteller.me
