I’ve recently started using Twhirl (since it offers the integration with ping.fm which I used previously), and I find it simple and useful – gone is the full tab of Twitter, now I have it as a sidebar, contributing to, but not detracting from, my day.

I’ve been using the beta since it was announced and it really is a decent and well behaved piece of software. I’ve happily said good-bye to Tweet Deck which seems to quickly want to own your computer.

In reply to Gee–yes, I agree that the desktop clients are getting more popular but I don’t see this as a step backwards. They are far more clever and non-invasive than most old style desktop programs (who uses MS Outlook/Entourage anymore?), and yes I think AIR has a lot to do with this. I’m significantly more active on Twitter now that it’s on my desktop with Twhirl.
