http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d8/Constitution-of-quebec-1775.png

Canada is based on this.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec#The_Quebec_Act

"In 1774, fearful that the French-speaking population of Quebec (as the colony was called) would side with the rebels of the Thirteen Colonies to the south, the British Parliament passed the Quebec Act giving recognition to French law, Catholic religion and French language in the colony; "

The British, in exchange for "freedoms" such as virtual representation in the graph above, gave the French the power to have law 101 and to abuse common civil liberties.

The same liberties that allow spanish language wal-marts in paramount.

It's a whore government. At least our government, and our people had the guts to recognize that and to create a true democracy.

Those people are decedents of the same people that sold them out, and they have the same attitude today. weak.

Look at their George Washington?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_A._Macdonald#Second_term_and_resignation_over_Pacific_Scandal.2C_1871.E2.80.931873

He was a drunk and a pathetic person. Every one of their "leaders", that's in quotes because the Queen is the head of state of Canada, has been just as much of a drunk and a loser as the first one.

And most of the population is too.

Screw Canada, they should be overthrown and their oil sands plummeted.

This is a very funny read. Remember the world's longest undefended border is shared by our two nations. Having fought beside Canadians in Afghanistan, I can tell you that there military is highly professional albeit small, but if you were a Canadian, why would you have a large military when the colossus to the South will defend you? We share common systems, common language for the most part, a love of good beer, hatred of the Red Wings, and a general desire to live life the way we choose. Inflammatory statements on blogs is intellectual masturbation.....both sides can flame away as I watch American football, drink LaBatts blue, plan my ski trip to Banff and then summer in Key West. Out........

Nope, Not Chris is nor Markus. He is another Canadian who, like Markus and a few others reading this thread, have applied Occam's razor, looked at all possibilities and concluded with the simplest one: you, sir, are a moron.

(Besides, Not Chris is, in your book, the very worst kind of Canadian: a French Canadian, the good folk who in your book should not be served at the same restaurants, attend the same schools, or be seen in the company of your hallowed self; to which we generally respond: sucks to be Chris)

As for your willingness to see your business funded by the Government, you have made ample references to this in the past, and how those nincompoops couldn't see the value in the beauty that was your idea. That's why you don't like Canada all that much: we have taken a good look and, despite the fact that in general we pretty much like everyone and get along fine, we, in this special case, don't like you personally.

This is just ridiculous. I cannot believe how God-loving, freedom-adoring Americans can be THAT offensive...

"If TC were in Quebec, they'd be forced to translate it all for you by the racist rule of law there which violates our first amendment."

<strong>First of all</strong>, understand that YOUR first amendment to YOUR constitution has NO BEARING on Canadian citizens, nor should it.

Secondly, I think you ought to understand that there is no law that forces a blogger to post in English and French; the laws that exist to encourage <em>bi</em>lingualism (yes, that means French AND English) exist to protect diversity. It doesn't seem to me like your defence (you can tell from my spelling that I'm Canadian) of monolingualism is very tolerant.

And just a few more logical fallacies, since you've been so nice to fill this comment thread with them: maybe you should go see a psychiatrist. The recession down there... unemployment... etc must be really hurting your mind. Or maybe you can come up here to Canada, <em>the nation with the best economics in the G8 right now</em> and get some <em>decent</em> health care and employment...

Just one final word: we're not Communists.

Hey dummy.. that 98% statistic comes out of the mouth of a fellow american, Chris :)

Epiclulz, our currency is doing better than the us dollar, shut the f*ck up..
That is exactly what's wrong here,
you just assume that you fantastic country is doing better than everyting else in the world...
try to grow an interest in the rest of the world,
cuz it's bigger than america you dumbass.
The chinese economy is going to be (real soon) one of the leading economies, so sorry to bring it to you.

That's why you'll never win an argument like this.
You're just not interested in what happen across US borders. Which is retarded :) and it makes your whole fantastic country look retarded cuz there are a lot of overpatriotic Americans like you, too much actually..

For anybody reading through in the US, I would hope our President Barack Obama re-instates much tougher softwood lumber tarriffs and punishes the Canadians for doing this, and withholds WTO judgements from them as what they are doing is completely illegal.

Obama said he would be tough on Canada with NAFTA, let's see him put his money where his mouth was.

Harper should be punished. I didn't pay for a bunch of lumberjack hillbillies to stay out of school and keep chopping wood and smell like the stench of death and speak le francais.

That's where your EI is going, you morons.

I should also mention that "Not Chris" is some Canadian by the name of Markus that has been stalking me on the internet.

Canadians defend themselves with misinformation. Unfortunately. That's their primary "weapon", since they can't build nukes, planes and traditional weapons.

Even if the ombudsman did their job, which they don't
Look at the criteria the Queen gave them to use her subjects' money

"SPECIFIC POWERS OF THE BANK
Financial Services

Loans, investments and guarantees

14. (1) The Bank may make loans to, or investments in, any person, or give guarantees in relation to any person.

How loans, etc., may be made
(2) The loans, investments and guarantees may be made or given directly, through arrangements with other financial institutions or by the Bank as a member of a financing syndicate."

Everything in Canada is dumbed down to a 5th grade level as to make it impossible to audit anything. Which is why Mulroney walked away.

That's a fact.

One to grow on * * *

All the crown corps are exactly like this. Where do these people come from? Sylvain Savaria, the guy who lied to me, was from Orthosoft. Yes, he sold medical software for a year or 2 and this qualified him to blow 1.5 billion of the public's money.

My advice, if you can get out of that craphole. Leave. One day we will all come back and clean house.

http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/ShowFullDoc/cs/B-9.9///en

Take a look at "her majesty's" charter, there is no oversight at all. A handful of chosen people are free with "must not at any time exceed $1.5 billion."

1.5 billion dollars.

There are over 100 crown corporations like this that regularly steal the entire wealth of the country.

"by asking the Canadian government to give his stupid ideas money. They refused, so he went back to mope and wonder why none of the women here cared for him."

I didn't ask the govt of Canada anything.
I renounced my Canadian citizenship which I also never asked for. They are apparently keeping in the 6 digits of money that they stole from me, and I can't apparently do anything about that. Again there is no checks and balances there. They can make infinite mistakes and you can't do anything to correct them. They wouldn't write me in English in violation of the charter of rights and freedoms and when I complained to OCOL, they gave me a french person who didn't understand a word I wrote in my complaint.

Because "that's how it works in Canada"

That no longer matters, because I am free to make money back here in America. You're still trapped there. I did ok with the girls there. Most of my friends were Americans up there though. Even my girlfriend was. I didn't have any Canadian friends to be honest. I hated Canada.

Hey guys,

Everybody here generally ignores Chris. He wanted to start a real business the way real capitalists do it: by asking the Canadian government to give his stupid ideas money. They refused, so he went back to mope and wonder why none of the women here cared for him. So he moved out, and has been trolling TC since: the only place in the world that gives him a sense of importance and purpose.

Just ignore him.

As for the smashLabs guys: great PR. Fantastic.

"The word fuck is just 4 letter but conveys more than a para of you hating someone."

Reading all that English must be very strenuous on your eyesight(oh *fack*, why are dere all dese english wordseses??). If TC were in Quebec, they'd be forced to translate it all for you by the racist rule of law there which violates our first amendment.

Unfortunately for you, no one here is going to knock on Mike's door and threaten him with a fine or jail time for having long posts in whatever language happens to be posted.

All the EDP contracts at MERX.ca are all window dressing. The minister of public works put up that site to show Canadians how "few contracts there are for software", and to divert attention away from their accepting gifts from lobbyists in exchange for govt. contracts.

Alphonso Gagliano, known crime family boss from Montreal headed the agency for a long time.

Though they never get caught, this explains the crown corporation racket:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_affair

"The Airbus affair refers to allegations of secret commissions paid to members of the Government of Canada during the term of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, in exchange for then-crown corporation Air Canada's purchase of a large number of Airbus jets."

At a board meeting in the Bell Building in Ottawa, Sylvain Cyr told me about secret government of Canada reports that were generated to justify buying software for his lobbyist friends.

If I was lying that could be libel. So it is the truth.
When he was asked to release the reports made with public money he refused.

That's "how it works" in Canada we were told.

A similar instance happened when a complaint was filed against BDC on my behalf.

"copy & paste - not even HTML - and to correct French grammars!"

The only reason law 101 exists is to prevent English schools from opening and primarily to continue to let the government take English books and services and make enormous amounts of money for simply translating them into French. The french version of any English or American service is about 50% more for no apparent reason.

There are no checks and balances outside of a single ombudsman at any crown corporation. These are corps which were invoked by the Queen of another country, and they control BILLIONS of dollars in funds. 1 person oversees them and they work with them, party with them and have a desk right next to the people they are supposed to be overseeing.

And people wonder how airbus and the sponsorship scandal happened.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sponsorship_scandal

cbc.ca/canada/montreal/story/2008/08/30/gagliano-farm.html

"Alfonso Gagliano, a former Liberal cabinet minister in charge of the mismanaged federal sponsorship program...The loan from Farm Credit Canada, a federal Crown corporation, was for $550,000."

This guy was an FBI certified mobster, and they used the crown corporations to continue to funnel him money even after his misconduct was so severe they booted him out of office.

He was forced to move to the US to become an FBI informant where he still lives today.

This STILL HAPPENS on a day to day basis there. Canada is probably the most corrupt G8 nation in the world. It happens on the federal and provincial levels.

The Canadian government needs to be dissolved. As does the Quebec government. They need to be replaced with a people's republic.

This all stems from the fact that the people did not defeat the british government and they are in a state of suppression. Willing to accept anything that the federal and provincial governments say.

It's time to fight back Canada. Start arming yourselves and start fighting these people. They are deathly afraid. Look at what happened in Oka. Kick their asses and take your land back from them.

Canada is not a communist country. In relation to the US,
- Elections are more frequent
- More parties to choose from when voting
The result is that Canadians have MORE control over their government.

With regards to Chris' health care comments, here's sobering statistic in that area -- Canadians live longer than Americans.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy

Canadians would not do "anything to live in America". Most are quite happy to enjoy a higher standard of living where there are (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index)

I agree the BDC part.

I recently went to BDC in Montreal for a "web maintenance" job. In the job description, it requires 2 years experience of web development. However, during the interview, they said they only need someone to do copy & paste - not even HTML - and to correct French grammars!

Canada is full of favoritism and nepotism, especially in the public sector. When was the last time you saw the government publicly post a job in tech field?
