Many people have more than one email for several reasons.

I do have accounts in Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, and others. I even have more than one in some cases.

From those I choose Gmail for most of my mails. It's technically better than the rest.

I know people like to pooh-pooh AOL... but its current online mail product is pretty good. It certainly looks sharp. And for FREE it provides:

1. imap (and pop) access (yahoo charges for pop access and has no imap)

2. a great contact manager (better than gmail's but not as good as yahoo's, but good)

3. a calendar (not as good as google's but better than yahoo's)

4. built-in IM feature

5. ability to check Yahoo Mail and Gmail within AOL.

Yes, you can't forward email -- and that needs to be addressed. But the service is good. And it looks great! I know "AOL" is deemed passé, but I think it might be worth a second look.

And I think we can all agree Hotmail is the worst email service.

That being said:
GMail has great features but has one of the most unattractive interfaces since Prodigy mail. See: http://www.tidbits.com/iskm/iskw2html/pt3/ch09/imgs/09fig72.gif for the comparison.
