Last night, The Richter Scales brought down the house at The Crunchies for the second year in a row with a brand new song. The song depicts a hilariously overoptimistic startup and pokes fun at just about everything in the tech industry, from overhyped launches to ridiculous product ideas (I especially love GramZone, the nursing home in the cloud). Check it out below (make sure you have your volume turned up).
We’re big fans of The Richter Scales, which is why we keep bringing them back. Some of their past classics include Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Here Comes Another Bubble - the award-winning and gut-busting song that was all too accurate.

not as good as their first piece.
But, the lyrics is awesome..
This is terrible. Can someone say WANK!
It’s funny, but kind of sad at the same time. Sad that it’s true, and sad that people consider it entertainment.
I’m so happy we have programming work in LA and we still don’t have off time for these tech musicals.
take that silicon valley!
What you fail to realize is that it’s things like this that make Silicon Valley. So while you’re finishing your latest project that is likely the result of an idea thought of here in Silicon Valley and outsourced to places where people don’t take time to think but simply “work”, know that these “tech musicals” are what spawn the ideas keeping the internet interesting.
Take that LA!
That’s false.
And you can hardly say that programming work is outsourced to LA. LA programmers are the highest paid on earth with the most benefits and the best conditions.
Programmers in LA are treated like rockstars.
@Bob
Do you know how my classmates are placed? We have an internship during the final sem. We are paid $25/month + free food + free stay for 10hours a day work. The food and stay is good though. Would you work?
Full time job starting pay - $8000/year. You wanted to finish your job in a cost effective way. Do you think we will do the same LA work and get paid that amount.
Its true that the majority of Indian engineers do not express their ideas. They dont have many ideas too. The education and work culture has to be blamed. Change India! In a few years time I am sure we will complain Silicon Valley as an old city.
Lets also not forget that great innovation takes place here. A new Intel chip was completely designed in India. Damn! I forgot the name of the chip. Lot more innovation took place that I cant keep listing.
I’m in LA, and I loved this video. Wish I could have been up there to see it. And as for Bob’s rebuttal below — we’ll I hope that groups down here like the Entrepreneur Mentor Society (www.emsociety.org) can, yes, copy Silicon Valley’s example and put on something like this down here.
Way to go, Richter Scales, as usual! And congrats to all who worked so hard on the Crunchies.
You can’t criticize unless you’ve danced for your VCs.
To quote Seinfeld: “it’s our sense of humour that’s sustained us as a people for over 3000 years Jerry”
Hey man, I’ve been in and out of Internet business since it was “The New Economy”. Trust me on this one, just laugh as the alternative is quite lonely.
Haha, good one, I liked it.
Great humor speaks a bit of truth!
This was classic!
Very cool.
I did not see the first one. This was really good. Laughter is good right about now.
TY for the link to Islam. Particularly appealing is it’s slave like oppression of women. And when polls taken after September 11 Murders of 3000 plus innocents showed clear majorities in some Middle East muslim nations supporting the violence I said I gotta sign up to be a raghead. Plus there is the fact of how good looking the hairfaces are ? I bet if you shout Mohamed in any Mkddle East ciudada about half those assholes turn around.
ur sister is h0t
See what happens when we give our old laptops to developing nations!!
Ugh! I suffered enough A cappella in college. SV campy meets tired and lame.
Instant classic indeed! That was hilarious.

Silicon alley inside her.
Rofl.
Sex Crunch.
Excellent. It’s funny that I have actually owned sexcrunch.com since 2006. I saw value on the domain name and wanted to build a sex enterprise with it only that I have been waiting for the right business plan template to get uploaded to Scribd.com so I can find and replace and raise a few million with it. I’m still pretty optimistic though.
gawd that was terrible.
Straight shooter and funny .

The a-crapella-ish song is great, but who the f*** cares? What relation is this to the “Tech” part of TechCrunch?
Is this passes as “technology” news, Murphy help us all!
File this in the Onion, acrapella fellas!
Instant classic indeed! That was hilarious.
