I connect the two because many of my hip hop business contacts are on MySpace (via a hip hop pr site with which I’m involved) and my reading of the Wall St. Journal (back at Ohio State while I was working on my PhD in Cultural Studies!) was one of the things that led me to business related blogging.

When I’m really on my hip hop business blogging game, that ish is seamless!

I agree… I’d like to see what percentage of MySpace users read the Journal, or better yet, actually read a newspaper (more that just the Sports page) on a daily basis!

They’re trying to draw business users to MySpace… to better compete with the perceived traction facebook has there. So if WSJ readers want to go to Davos… which they do… they have to create a MySpace account. Brilliant actually.

A free trip to the land of fine skiing, a chance to rub elbows with heads of states, and, for college-applying high-schoolers, a chance to bulk up their application forms, why not? Serious Ivy-League-aiming MySpace kids do exist, albeit in tiny minority.

Very clever move for WSJ, which urgently needs to cultivate a new generation of readers, now that the dead-tree press is drowning in red ink. The online WSJ edition has gotten a make-over, and it’s obvious that they are attempting to shed the stodgy image of the paper edition.

This year, the gloomy cloud of macro economic apocalypse might ruin the fun for the casual attendees. Worry not, however, there is never a shortage of hoity-toity crowd at Davos.

This is a great way of giving back to loyal readers and user.

I think that a great person to bring/select is a normal Joe the Non-Techie who was down on his luck an found ways on the internet to put food on his table and clothes his family by becoming Joe the Techie.

The problems is that there is still a huge digital divide in society and it might be very difficult to find that person(s).

What other candidate(s) do you think would be interesting to bring ?
