That’s a very good idea..But someone they just don’t want to reply. I ran a Free Dating site as well, as a hobby and something to do when i’m free (if i’m ever free) and send emails to some of the florist, but none ever replied.

3 cheers for the lil guy!!! Because yes, it can be done… It has been proven.

Aside from all the social sites, it’s the start ups that keep the big guys on their toes. Even if you are running a free site for dating or just dating tips, you can improve the experience for many users on all levels.

I’m not personally trying to keep up with the Jones’ or compete with them but instead offering simple insights and basic understandings of how dating services online and off should be used.

My sites success is dependent on free info and the authority factor of my content. Without these, my ads would be useless and the work involved would be futile. And again I’m not concerned with competing because there is more than enough pie to go around.

I’m interested in speaking to anyone with or working on a new dating site. I don’t care if it’s a free one or paid. I think that a cooperative agreement between multiple dating sites and services would be benficial for all involved.

I think the RealRating system won’t work. I’ve seen other startup dating sites attempt this and its basically a way to talk trash about another person if you had a bad date or if you were dumped. If a hot person actually went on a date and met their match then they will no longer use the real rating dating site but jealous exs might trash that person out of jealousy or desire to win them back. On the flip side, Losers will never get a date with constant negative feedback. So it can essentially devolve into Loser Central where everyone is trashing one another! But with all these losers out there, the site could make a killing with affiliate dating for the premium paid sites.

To get back to the topic, I believe in the world of dating sites, Free dating sites can truly become a small problem for paid sites. But then there is also the budgeting factor. These big name (paid) dating sites must have an enormous budgeting plan.

Being able to advertise on TV or Radio, That would be somewhat of a dream for me. I believe they will hold there ground by being able to regularly update there site.

I have put in allot of work to get my 100% free dating site off the ground http://www.HookingUpNY.com where I offer all features for free. I am willing to push all the way.

So as for being a problem for paid dating sites, I don’t think they will have a big problem competing with free sites.

The idea of the “RealRating” system Down to Earth has implemented is seriously flawed. In theory this concept seems like a great advantage for users of the site, but in reality it’s no different than the feedback between buyer and seller on ebay.

Users will refrain from posting a negative RealRating for another user in fear of receiving a similar rating in return. What could be worse than being active on a dating site where you have stars next to your username showing how much of a liar you are? Try getting a date after your last two out of three gave negative feedback…

On the contrary, the RealRating system could work as planned. Users with outdated pictures may update them after receiving a poor rating and may result in a more honest dating site. Although this still does not protect from simply having a bad date and the feedback consequences that may arise from that situation.
