Madhav- I'm not too worried about internet facial recognition as you describe it. My photo is on my facebook and linkedin profiles (both available through search) anyway. But if someone creates facial recognition software that can cross various websites and platforms i'll be scared. ie: i do a search for your name, and the search engine also has indexed all the photos on the internet and already run facial recognition software on each one, for all the faces in their database. I could potentially find you in photos you didn't know existed, security tapes, etc.

The scary bit is when facial recognition hits internet ! One would think I can tag a photo (face) as say "John" and then you can Google images for the John's face? Imagine what all places John's face might show up and if it is a good thing.

Its probably good for private investigators or girlfriends to research on their boyfriends before they get "serious". But in a general context it could be the scariest nightmare. What say?

[原文へ]（翻訳：Namekawa, U） ShowListings("arc3"); ShowListings("arc2"); AddClipsUrl = 'http://jp.techcrunch.com/archives/20090106iphoto-gets-a-facelift/'; AddClipsTitle = 'iPhotoに顔認識機能―MacWorldキーノートで発表'; AddClipsId = '2CBE02C952CFE'; AddClipsBcolor='#78BE44'; AddClipsNcolor='#D1E9C0'; AddClipsTcolor='#666666'; AddClipsType='1'; AddClipsVerticalAlign='middle'; 次の投稿へ 前の投稿へ トラックバック [...]
