I’ve had this thing for two years, mostly so I could use it with Rhapsody. This is the breaking point. I will probably buy an iPod in the next few weeks and promise myself to never get involved with portable DRM ever again.

Vista is garbage, it's the equivalent to windows millennium edition. As far as windows 7 goes it fixes many many many issues first being, 64-bit is a viable option for everyday users no more wondering, is this hardware driver gonna work. Others being, wifi apps that are actually better than third party, network switching without loosing your IP stack, real memory managment, Vista was crap-ware from the inside out. Maybe an everyday user didn't see it but at the enterprise and IS(database) level no one was buying it.

Who cares? My point is that one piece of vague anecdotal evidence doesn’t make a global case. You don’t even know if the OS was the issue in your case. Vista works great on my laptop - does that mean that it suddenly works great in most places?

FYI genius the 1st gen zunes went out of production very soon after being released. they were replaced with "2nd gen" <-- incase your apple has scrambled your brain too much to figure out what comes after 1st gen. they are still 30gigs, but from a different gen. you would think even an apple fanboy could figure this out, since there have been more than 6 gens of ipods. the article is in referrence to models shipped prior to the upgrade to 2nd gen. go get a brain and stop flaming.

I'm 15 and music is my drug, I take my zune EVERYWHERE. I go nowhere without it. I've been late for events because I had to find my zuen before I'd even think about leaving the house, so yesterday when the screne randomly broke, OUT OF NOWHERE. no impact, no drop, nothing. I sat, and I cried. The inner LCD screne broke, but the outside showed now signs of damage at all. that's why I thought nothing was wrong, so I just put it back in my locker then went to use it again, and BAM it was broken... Needless to say I screamed in horror when I saw my screne. now the question is...
ipod or zune.
I am one of the many that believe Ipods are soon to take over the human race...
do I follow the crowd with an Ipod...or do I stick with zune?

Well;;;; BYE FOLKS.....
I stumbled [ told ya,,, I'm 65 ] on this site.
I thought the Zune thing was interesting. For a company to NOT have a calender adjustment after 2000 is not to BRIGHT. My wife worked in IT then. It was a NIGHTMARE, the 2000 New years was the first time in 43 yrs. now that we sprnt apart ,not by choice. [ She has worked as a nurse and works holidays when we are not partying so others can ].

NOW THE REASON I'M WRITING THIS.
For the Tech crunch, people, I'm not much of a tech person, I thought I might pick up some hints about TECH STUFF. Mp3, wii. computer, etc. I expected a big difference in opinion, what I DID NOT expect was the VILE personal attacks of your members. Don't get me WRONG, the foul words don't faze me a bite [ LOL??]....

For those of that might answer this, please tell it to tech crunch, I hope in appology from ALL of you. My next move will be to remove this site from my favorites.

Why should this be a surprise to anyone? the same company that can't create a standard compliant browser, our an OS that actually works. For shame all you developers at MS. Oh yeah, i also hear that is was a patch update that brought down The Toronto Stock Exchange, that damn blue screen of death!
Go Apple and Mozilla. They may not be the greatest dev teams, but they are innovative, and push the boundaries MS can only dream of. Let's hope IE8 is even a fraction as good as any of the superior browsers!

I be there have been quite a few. But at least the Zunes are up and running again. It didn't work for a day. Big deal. I don't use it everyday like I used to, but out of the year and 4 months I've had it, I haven't had a problem. Minor glitch. It happens. Nothing is perfect, right? Btw, Happy New Years everyone.
