You know those engineer elves at Google like to do things their own way. That build-it-better ethic also applies to Christmas toys. If you click on the Christmas Doodle on Google’s main search page, you will see the five images below, which shows what I can only assume is one of Google’s older engineers in his workshop with his son. He is putting together a contraption with wooden gears and tubes that create toys (and explosions too!). Those must be Internet tubes.
(Yahoo and Live Search are also celebrating today).

Maybe the message is that at Google they don’t just make toys, they make infrastructure (the toy making gadget).

I felt these were the worst Google Doodles they’ve ever put out. When I first saw them, I couldn’t even decipher what they were. I wish they’d go back to their regular Doodles. These suck.

Terrible doodles. Looks like the art that brought MAD magazine to its knees. The overly-shaded and cluttered images do nothing for anyone. Kind of like that Christmas poem published earlier today.

Live search to beat Google? Wat planet are you on? Or shall I ask what your are you on? 1992? Google have more market share in the natural search than all other search engines put together. Thats right. More market share than all other search engines put together. Live search is useless. Even if all of us TechCrunch readers formed together and put up a new search engine we’d probably return better search results than Live Search.
