i agree with you steve, it’s been 3 month using twitter and i’m doesn’t feel any money rythm with it even i have an account but now i can’t log to my twitter account either…thx for that tweet

Logging in my credentials on different, untrusted twit-apps is sooner or later going to prove annoying. Whose gonna create the first open twitter ID? =) One app that does it right is http://twitterlike.com – just type in the username, and voila!

Awesome! One more to add to the mess. Wonder how are they are all going to make a penny? With so many of them around I am sure things are going to be difficult. Isn’t Twitter as a service good enough?

In the Twitter API docs it says they are looking for other methods of authentication like OAuth but for now you need to give the username and password to all access using basic HTTP authentication. It does suck but being a Twitter app developer I never store usernames or passwords they are just used in a session key and I use the Twitter user ID to identify the user.

But Hak5 have TwitterPhishr.com which is an example of what users could do with the API if they wanted to be evil.

I think the site has great potential but I would need to keep logging in to their site to see my filtered feed. I hardly every use the Twitter website so TwitTangle would need an API before I would use it.

Considering the increasing number of sites asking for our Twitter username/Password, is there any way to be sure it doesnt get mis used, I mean at a way to track or ban twitter based sites having our id/passwords?

problem with GreaseGibbon or whatever its called – it thats its a techy thing, and main stream don’t have the time nor the inclination to undertake a degree in Computer Science to use a social media network

Think the name doesnt work to well, but that aside i think this is conceptually its just the same as tweetdeck – and I cannot fathom why you would want to use both, there is no point.

I like to ability to create groups and manage followers – although if you have a lot of followers you won’t have the patience to group – I know I wont be doing this.

Rating is an interesting one – and will be watching closely what happens here, not sure what benefit this has for the individual user in that i know who is good, bad and ugly in my followers – why would i want to rate them. If they annoy you drop and block, if they dont you nurture and grow the online relationship.

I suppose we could use TwitTangle to incrementally tag and group people as they come through with updates. But a better solution would have been some kind of Greasemonkey script that sat on top of our Twitter profiles and extended Twitter with tagging and grouping.

That way, we get the best of both worlds…

Groups ? Hmm, i wonder when we’ll have groups in Twitter its been ages since they added Groups to Twitter Japan, adding groups to Twitter will make it more and more like IRC Channels
