@MJG Gree should reach 100 million USD revenues this year with 60% margin. That is 60 million USD, or less than 20 PER for a high-growth company. Does that still sound unreasonable? (note: I am not saying the high growth will last forever though).

Gree becomes the 5th SNS listed on a stock market after Xing (Germany), Tencent (China/HK), Mixi (Japan) and DeNA (Japan). MySpace and Cyworld are listed indirectly respectively via News Corp in US and SK Telecom in South Korea.

Would it be that 80% of listed pure players are in Asia? More, half of them are mobile!

That being said and as pointed out by Serkan, Gree's originality is debatable - the service is a corporate copycat of Mobile Game Town. The business model is an adaptation of Cyworld's and even the most popular game is a slight upgrade of your usual fishing game. It was even copied back by Mobile Game Town - Gree's CEO was asked what he thought of it and he recognized there was not much IP to defend there.

So it looks like much of Gree's success lies in their adaptability (like ditching what was their main service - the web version, or changing their biz model), their speed and the fact they landed a great corporate investor (KDDI) who not only financed them but gave them preferential access to their subscriber base. Is this "business as usual"?

How can a company with revenues less than $40 million and profit less than $20 million be valued at a $1 billion + market cap?

It doesn´t really make sense. The stock is just hyped.
