While this was going on, I also got a NeXT cube (still have it) as a kind of 25MHz successor to the Amiga (16Mhz). When NeXT died I used SGI machines and BeOS. Now all of those are dead or living only in emulation. I'm making iPhone apps now and chuckle at the distance all the "NS*" internal objects have gone. The provisioners would yell out at once, "SPINNING!" Wasn't I surprised 5 years later when I bought my first Mac. That little spinning ball was there to great me again.
