Mike - we never 'pirated' any video content. When we first launched, it was purely community and fan interaction (still the primary drive of user engagement). As we grew the audience, we did the hard work of working through all the legal issues and rights to secure video assets legally for all major networks.

I saw TVLoop.com when it launched and was really impressed. It's an example of very slick integration between social network applications and a standalone website (even beyond single sign-on/Facebook connect). These guys have a huge base of applications to launch from and I look forward to more cool stuff from them in the future.

They started off just as a network of community/social apps (which they still primarily are) and didn't have video before now.

I like it, how did they launch with out getting the rights to video? Sounds ballsy, but it worked! I know a lot of startups that are coming out strong with video content. hulu, Jadsters.com, joost, all great sites. Keep'em coming, it helps me pass the day.
