Here's one comparison matrix:

It's not 100% complete but serves as a good starting point.

Here is another new analytics tool recommended by the iphone developer community over at iphoneintouch.com. They provide solid in-app analytics code, in-app advertising opportunities, and more.

@AppBeacon: The performance of the app is not affected when the user is not on a network. We currently do not collect (and then send later) data when the iPhone is offline. In any instance, the user of the app would not experience any performance impact with this data collection.

@Sean Wani: We are not aware of Apple or the iPhone device providing developers access to the phone’s call logs. However, if a link (in a web-page or native app) had a phone number on it, you could measure the clicks of these links before the iPhone switched to the phone application and made the phone call.

@William Smith: There already is a SiteCatalyst iPhone app that you can download from the iTunes app store for free. This allows you to access SiteCatalyst reports from your iPhone.

Damn, at first i thought this was bringing Omniture to the iPhone in order to check up on web stats. Kind of surprised that they are just now adding visibility to the iPhone - GA has done it for awhile.

I think what's interesting about this post is that we seem to be intermixing a couple of separate but related ideas.

1. I recently downloaded an iPhone app which lets me view Omniture reports, data and analytics on my iPhone.

2. I believe Omniture recently added a number of reports into their suite that sheds some light on mobile web usage.

3. Lastly, based on this post, it looks as if Omniture released some type of modular codebase and platform offering allowing iPhone developers the ability to embed analytics points into the interaction with the software. This is similar to how we've been seeing a focus on embedding analytics into AJAX apps as it's not as simple as page-based interactions.

Hopefully I am making sense here. Was trying to parse out numerous concepts from this string.

Anyways, Cheers!

Only corporate clients can afford Omniture, it's probably the most expensive SaaS product in the entire world. A lot of iPhone apps are made by small teams, so I don't see why Omniture is even doing this. Oh wait, that's right, it's iPhone related and it's a big company so of course TC will right about it! :P

Do any of these iPhone analytics companies provide reat-time call tracking? It would be great to track impression of ad all the way to phone call to the advertiser (and include call stats such as when the call was made and call duration.)

Does this affect the performance of the apps when the user is not on a network (WiFi or 3G)?

Does the reporting rely on a connection at that moment or does it collect information when offline and report when a connection becomes available?

Flurry Analytics also provides real-time analytics for iPhone, as well as Android, Blackberry and Java ME. It's easy to integrate, allows developers to track custom events and goals, and compare versions of an application within a platform or across all platforms we support.

It would be great to see a side-by-side comparison of these 5 or 6 services.

If anyone knows of links to comparisons, please post them in the comments.

Thanks, Micah.

We do provide free, in app analytics for hundreds of iPhone and Android developers.

Omniture's breadth of service will be good for large publishers looking to link analytics across all of their properties, and is a great compliment to our ad platform.

The great thing about using App Measure over pinch media/admob/medialets is that you can use the data on your existing omniture setup, which has hundred of different types of reports with different metrics you can track. The other providers dont really have many metrics except app opens, app runs, etc...
