		<description>I wonder whether Google would power any of the quoted &#039;semantic searches&#039; by any outright semantic technologies.

I&#039;ve seen this interview cited by a few Semantic Web-interest blogs, as far as I&#039;m aware and as a result of research I&#039;ve performed, I&#039;m yet to see Google show any interest in the Semantic Web (idea).

I think rather more they would use the huge mass of data they have access to, to forge intrinsic links based on preferences of personalisation - perhaps for example, the likes captured by SearchWiki - and base semantic assumptions on those, rather than tackle any natural language processing with regards to understanding language ambiguity.

It would almost be more intelligent processing of personalised trends - but then we know that&#039;s exactly the type of algorithmic calculation Google excel at :) - which would no doubt achieve the desired results.
