I've seen this interview cited by a few Semantic Web-interest blogs, as far as I'm aware and as a result of research I've performed, I'm yet to see Google show any interest in the Semantic Web (idea). I think rather more they would use the huge mass of data they have access to, to forge intrinsic links based on preferences of personalisation - perhaps for example, the likes captured by SearchWiki - and base semantic assumptions on those, rather than tackle any natural language processing with regards to understanding language ambiguity.
