The gmail sms works fine for about a month, then the chat box stops popping up when i try to send a text. I can still receive to a certain degree, but i can’t send any.

Can any one tell me wheather Google or Yahoo offering free sms in India. Right now there are other websites providing such service but its text capacity is very less.

Ok, stupid question. You can only send 3 messages and then your recipient *Must* reply in order for you to send more, I guess it is an anti-spam thing. I sent 3 texts to a friend. She replied to my phone and not to Google. She deleted the Google SMS messages and can’t reply to thme, now I can’t ever send any messages to her from Google to that cell number.

Anyone know of a way to reset that feature? I understand it is for protection, but there should be a way.

Love Gmail, the new SMS is cool. Anything that is really F-R-E-E is cool! However, know that when you send one SMS message, until the person replies, you cannot send a second one. That’s how Gmail has it programmed. If they fail to reply, you cannot send anymore to that person, period.

This is a pretty convenient feature, it really makes Gmail a one-stop-shop for all your communication needs (almost – next up: VoIP).

What I’d like to know is if it will eventually be adopted into Gtalk, their desktop chat client.

hey there, you can find out the carrier through a website called fone finder. search for that…
also, you need the path. like sprint isn’t ( )@stext.com. they are all different.

i’ve been using this for months. sometimes it doesn’t go through right away, but it works and is free.
