CrunchBase InformationRidemakerzInformation provided by CrunchBase[原文へ]（翻訳：Namekawa, U） ShowListings("arc3"); ShowListings("arc2"); AddClipsUrl = 'http://jp.techcrunch.com/archives/20090123beta-invites-for-ridemakerz-virtual-world/'; AddClipsTitle = '男の子向け自動車づくりのバーチャルワールド、Ridemakerz'; AddClipsId = '2CBE02C952CFE'; AddClipsBcolor='#78BE44'; AddClipsNcolor='#D1E9C0'; AddClipsTcolor='#666666'; AddClipsType='1'; AddClipsVerticalAlign='middle'; 次の投稿へ 前の投稿へ トラックバック [...]

The game is shaping up quite nicely but I hope there will be more level of interaction between players. There's no mention of multi-player and the mini games have no ranking system yet. I hear that there will be no chat and that it will only use emotes for communication. I hope there are enough phrases available for basic conversation...I can't even say "thank you" or "follow me". I love the idea of making your real ride virtual, and a virtual ride real! Aside from real items, I hope there will also be "virtual only" items that can be used for "Battle mode" where you could race in a track similar to "Death Race"! As for new cars, I want my 70's Camaro, and import tuners!

CORRECTION: Actually, we do have a license through BMW, the MINI Cooper S, which is a license through BMW North America. The article does not state that we offer BMW's; it states that we have a license through BMW. Also, it is not correct that we have one GMC product. With GM, we have a Chevrolet product, the Pratt & Miller C6.R and C6RS Corvette. You are correct that an average price for a tricked-out, radio-controlled RIDE is $75 not $120, and the average price for a free-wheel RIDE is around $35.

There are many things not correct with this article. Ridemakerz does not offer any BMW products, but they do offer Ford, Dodge, one GMC product and some custom cars designed by Chip Foose. An average car with remote averages around the $75.00 mark, you can go more or less just depends on what options you customize on it. Also yes, Maxine Clark does operate BAB. There are no plans to open a shop in the Bay area any time soon, but we will be coming to Cali soon enough....stay tuned.

How about charging the hybrids with automobile paint or windows solar panel? Also you can charge the car on the vibration in shock movement or brake pedals as well as while car is moving using the wheel movement. And then you can also charge it by placing wind tunnels in right places. Using all these methods, the car may need to re-charged using the wall plug for very little time.

Judging from the video, it looks like it uses a more 3D looking engine compared to the isometric view in the other kid's worlds such as Club Penguin and Webkinz.

Cool.

My 9 year old son would go crazy in a store, any news when they may have a Bay Area/SF location?

I have two kids that spend time in Club Penguin which IMO has done an excellent job of creating one of the few viable businesses in the virtual world space.

I can see all sorts of sponsor tie ins too, this could be a really interesting business to watch.

BTW - Rick is correct, Maxine Clark is the person behind Build a Bear

This is great! I saw a preview build of the Pixar/Disney online cars world at the Adobe MAX conference. It was cool but this tie in with the 'real-life' buildable cars might put it over the top! My girls are Webkins freaks so I know the concept is solid. The personalization and focus for the boys looks to be a winner!
