I dont understand how they make money and why anyone uses them over the default msn web messenger, I find their service horribly slow.

If you want big adoption, tweak your offering to directly compete with Blackberry Messenger. If you can provide the same functionality to BBM you could potentially get blackberry users to iPhone and PAY YOU A PREMIUM for your product.

Figure out exactly WHY people like BBM so much and replicate it.

Many people like that it is just for a closed network of people…can you replicate that? Some like the voice-notes, ping, and send file.

If you could place your users into different groups and give each group different away messages then you could facilitate the BIG SWITCH from Blackberry to iPhone.

People will pay for this!
