Thanks @jblunt for your comment and let me answer your questions about Knowledge Plaza.

1. An SaaS version is due soon and will follow a similar model to 37signals, i.e. small business orientated. Opening ourselves to plugins would definitely be a possible direction, although our simple API can already handle many customization needs.

2. For our clients, the platform can either be available online or on-premises and it is brandable if needed. If you’re interested in testing the app, we would therefore be glad to take you through a short demo and give you a trial account.

3. We had several discussions on enabling this type of “automatic feeding”, but to this day we remain convinced that information relevance implies human validation prior to publication and we absolutely want to keep the platform’s strength in this area. That said, Knowledge Plaza could easily import article feeds from rss readers or monitoring applications such as http://www.kbcrawl.org to push new articles through our easy-to-use API.

Looks like Attentio compete with others as well: Techrigy, Buzzmetrics, Scout Labs, Radian6.

Salesforce should just buy contactinfo.com if is is as good as claimed in the post.

I like tikitag and tunz, both have very hard roads to navigate though.

I am from Brussels, and I can see that web 2.0 companies are slowly emerging, some of them really interesting, check out BetaGroup for monthly conferences.
I am about to launch http://www.skilto.com in a few days, an online community for skilled people, where anyone will be able to find out who can help them around. More news to come soon

The Knowledge Plaza sounds really slick, however as mentioned in the piece, why lock it down to just enterprise. I would think an independent consultant would find this very appealing. So I have three questions for the Knowledge Plaza folks:

1. Why not open this platform up to the consumer (and not just enterprise) and follow a b-model similar to 37Signals and allow plugins?

2. Or why not whitelabel it and allow me to install it on my own server for a one time license purchase?

3. Does the platform allow me to subscribe and archive RSS feeds (say from TechCrunch) to be indexed and search?

Good Initiative the TechCrunch Tour, hope Spain will be one of visited countries next future. I think now, internet, mobility and technology is not so Sillicon Valley centered as it was in the past (in fact Mobility in US is more in the Boston area).
Knowing more and more, about what is being done globally could offer sinergies, VC opportunities and M&A win-win operations.
