If you don’t know what being RickRolled is, go look it up because you don’t want to be the last person to figure it out. YouTube even RickRolled its own users as an April Fools joke.
Anyway, tonight I get a call on my mobile phone. And it’s that damn song. Apparently it’s some new startup called Twilio, and according to a Facebook message it was initiated by Dave McClure, who is probably advising them.
Congratulations Dave, you’ve found a unique way of bugging me. Hope there’s more to the business than that. Did you get my text message thanking you?

never gonna give u up mike
i honestly have never been rickroll
Never gonna let u down
http://prankdialer.com/ has been doing that for a while now and not just rickroll…
Now if I’d receive a package with a little holographic rick astley singing & dancing….THAT would be something new
ummm… well Twilio isn’t exactly in the business of producing prank phone call apps, at least over the long-term. i believe the point they’re making with the RickRoll app demo is that their platform makes it quick & easy to build simple voice & phone apps with Twilio.
(Rick Astley shouldn’t quit his day job, and look for Twilio to provide more boring examples of voice & phone apps that generate revenue and/or increase productivity)
ps – & yes i’m advising Twilio, but only on RickRoll marketing campaigns.
Classy response.
And it gets classier!

Ahahahaha
Never gonna give you up,
Just out of curiosity Mike, I noticed you called it a “mobile phone” instead of a cell. Are you really American?
fucking A, great domain idea Micheal. http://www.tech...8/11/photo1.jpg ReFuckingDiculous.COM your portal to everything ridiculous. I’ll build it with somebody
.
Haven’t you heard, Herbert Elwood Gilliland III beat you to it.
Hey Mike..
Laughed my a$$ off at the iPhone screenshot..
Maybe from this we can develop a web 3.0 buzz phrase?
Introducing the ‘DickRoll’
That phrase was already claimed by lfgcomic. To their credit, it was hilarious: undead warlock singing the song then melting everyone’s heads.
I’m sorry, what were we talking about?
you misspelled rifuckingdiculous
I can’t stop, wondering if I should rick roll my parents. Nothing better then being in a board meeting and being rick rolled.
I rickrolled myself juts as a test, because I think the concept is pretty funny. Unfortunately, the execution here is super lame – when you answer it says “You’ve been rickrolled by [phone number of sender]” then the song starts. That takes away all the fun. First off if you’ve heard of rickrolling it completely spoils the surprise. Second off it’s not anonymous. What the hell fun is that? I was going to send it to one of my friends who I thought would get a laugh out of it, but now I’m not going to
I rickrolled myself on my phone’s speaker this morning just to wake up to rick astley’s voice. Is that weird?
LimeAll does the same thing…
