i suspect it will stop when someone comes up with a better analytics software which isn’t then sold onto google.

until that time, what choice is there?

the Google Analytics API for Flash is open source
http://code.goo...m/p/gaforflash/

so that means two things
- if we are not fast enougth to fix some bugs you can access the code directly
- anyone can use and integrate it in any flash app, widgets, etc.

One could use the mentioned ajax code to create a gigawidget for use in pre-arranged flash modules.

We use Piwik (aims to be an open source alternative to Google Analytics) to do custom tracking in our ajax application. One could use Piwik to track flash events and build similar reports; i invite you to check it out (it’s still beta)

I think Sprout is amazing but my only problem with it is that it slows down the load times of our site, so we had to take it off.

Google Analytics may be a great tool, but getting them to fix a bug or otherwise render any customer support is virtually impossible. Props to Sprout for getting full integration with Analytics given Google’s indifference.

Being able to track goals & conversions is a big plus on Flash interfaces. Good job. We’ve been using work arounds in our site and they’ve been somewhat okay.

Google-Analytics:

It’s collecting TONS of user information that is stored on Google’s servers and endlessly builds personal profiles. And the general public has absolutely NO IDEA about this.

Google knows EVERYTHING about us.

This is privacy madness and has to STOP.
