Chief Wiggum,

Thanks for the feedback.

Please note our homepage's "conversion goal" isn't actually to get the "first time visitor" to contact us at that point. It's actually to get her/him to learn more about our solution. In our line of business we would prefer to talk with prospects who understand our offering and are looking for an increase in website conversion rates.

With that said, your feedback was valuable and we added a call for action at the end of the video which invites the user to see the next video (Platform video). We will use our A/B testing system to check if this button actually increases the conversion rate of customers going to our platform page AND for customers contacting us. This will be an interesting exercise and my gut feeling is that it will have positive results.

Thanks!

How is thisdifferent than simply outsourcing to a 3rdparty creative team / agency to what scene7 / adobe already offers?

Adding video of images or rich media is as old as the hills. Saying something will aid conversion is also trite. At best this is feature along with wholehost of other conversion enhancers. If one were to add up all the preposterous claims that every player in the space makes, retailers should expect conversion to increase 4000%. We know that isn't happening. So what you need to ask is what is the relativebenefit of this method over another? There is only so much time a customer will devote to you. There is only so much margin to share with vendors. This tool should tell me how it outperforms other options such as reviews or zoom or recommendations etc. While it shouldn't be either or, realistically we can't implement everything. So help uschoose why we should prioritize you.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the great feedback. My name is Tal and I am one of EyeView’s founders.

The call for action on our website should be “contact us”. I totally agree it makes sense to add such a button at the end of the first video.

Concerning EyeView’s platform, besides the fact that our creative team makes really effective videos (length of video, music selection, colors, speed, Voice over selection, text vs. visuals, etc) based on tests and experience, the platform enables two main functionalities: Serving and Test and Analyzing.

Serving the video: this includes all the technicalities from simple 1 line java script integration and fastest highest quality streaming WW to the more interesting functionalities like predefined rules which allow customer to control when the video is initiated, in what manner, as reaction to what user interaction with the website, based on user demographics, time on site etc.
All these changes can be made with ZERO programming requirements, our customer simply adds 1 java script line and he can make all the changes with a click of a button.

Test and Analyzing: This allows to conduct different A/B split tests in a very simple manner enabling the user (or our conversion experts) to really understand the impact of the video on the website conversion. The platform also provides Traffic reports (detailed reports regarding user profile data) Engagement reports (User interaction with the rich-media content) and most importantly Conversion reports (measures the overall impact of rich-media on the website conversion).

This might sound like a lot of technical terms but it’s actually pretty simple. After we produce the most effective videos based on our experience, the platform provides the tools to create the best customer experience and to test its impact (and then change it to get even better conversions).

I hope this helps!

Chief Wiggum - you nailed it. I am always suspicious of companies that do not put into practice what they offer.

Ho does that simple flash movie on their home page help conversions? There is no call to action - no how to. I don't get it?

Using rich media to convert is a no brainer, but it's a small piece of a much more complex funnel process, where many factors - including congruence between ad banner, landing page and sale / reg forms, use of graphics, typeface and other UE elements can have a large impact on conversions.

I've been in this business for a long time and I'm not seeing anything in the EyeView platform that gets me excited.

Am I missing soimething?

Hi I am one of EyeView’s content managers and I wanted to share that we do much more than just “flash tutorials” (as the headline of the article implies).
EyeView increases online conversion through the use of rich-media content (Rich-media content, includes video, audio and interactive flash applications). We also do much more than tutorials, many of our projects our based on homepage videos (that increase first time visitor conversion) and promotional videos which help drive traffic.
We know that these kinds of solutions are the most effective tools for sites to communicate information with their users.

We have created 2 videos using Eyeview and the feedback has been extremely positive.

Besides using the videos to explain to users how we can help them save money, we use the videos for sales presentations as well, and conferences.

you can see their work on http://www.getprice.com.au/aboutus.htm

I just watched their "call-to-action" video on their own homepage and guess what???

They don't include any call to action on their own website.

Retarded.

Eyeview is a classic Israeli entrepreneurial story from Israel. Founders knew each other from University/Military and got together from all over the world to start this company in Israel. Happy to be involved in this company.

Erick, I wonder is this deal wasn't done months ago and they only publish it now to show some momentum. I won't be surprised if this was their last seed deal, as I keep close track on seed deals in the VC space, and many non-U.S. ones are pulling out, and going more into private equity deals (later stages). Y combinator and some others are showing good traction, but seed investments coming from Europe and Asia don't seem to be picking up speed.
