Walmart / Sams Club certainly does have a point. But do the aggressive tactics scare off all the free coupon sites from posting their -valid- coupons?

Who does Sam’s Club think they’re fooling anyway? It’s pretty apparent to me that this “leaked” ad was created and leaked on purpose. It gave them the perfect scapegoat. They advertise some ridiculous price for a Wii where people have to buy a membership in order to purchase it. And who wouldn’t spend the money for a membership to save $200, right? Then two days before the sale, after they’ve made thousands of dollars on new memberships, they finally decide to do something about the ad. Let’s keep in mind that this ad was out for over two weeks before they acted. Then they say, “What? We’re not responsible for this ad circulating. It was an unauthorized release.” (or a supposed fake). They did it, they knowingly did it, made a ton of money doing it…and now they’re covering their asses by sending all of these cease and desist letters from their lawyers.

If this ad was really a fake or a misprint (and they had any intestinal fortitude whatsoever) they would reimburse people who bought new memberships under false pretenses as long as they hadn’t used their memberships already.

Mr. Arrington, you must be kidding right? How would you like it if an “anonymous source” STOLE confidential information from your company which you spent months and $million to put together and released it to the public beating you to the punch?

The answer is you too would sue, so get real.

What if another “anonymous source” stole or to use your pc term “leaked” confidential IP from intel or apple? What journalistic value is there to publish this unless you can prove there is criminal activity or dire public harm?

Obviously those helping to publish this “leak” is simply an accomplice to theft or grand larceny.
