Walmart / Sams Club certainly does have a point. But do the aggressive tactics scare off all the free coupon sites from posting their -valid- coupons?

Who does Sam's Club think they're fooling anyway? It's pretty apparent to me that this "leaked" ad was created and leaked on purpose. It gave them the perfect scapegoat. They advertise some ridiculous price for a Wii where people have to buy a membership in order to purchase it. And who wouldn't spend the money for a membership to save $200, right? Then two days before the sale, after they've made thousands of dollars on new memberships, they finally decide to do something about the ad. Let's keep in mind that this ad was out for over two weeks before they acted. Then they say, "What? We're not responsible for this ad circulating. It was an unauthorized release." (or a supposed fake). They did it, they knowingly did it, made a ton of money doing it...and now they're covering their asses by sending all of these cease and desist letters from their lawyers.

If this ad was really a fake or a misprint (and they had any intestinal fortitude whatsoever) they would reimburse people who bought new memberships under false pretenses as long as they hadn't used their memberships already.

Mr. Arrington, you must be kidding right? How would you like it if an "anonymous source" STOLE confidential information from your company which you spent months and $million to put together and released it to the public beating you to the punch?

The answer is you too would sue, so get real.

What if another "anonymous source" stole or to use your pc term "leaked" confidential IP from intel or apple? What journalistic value is there to publish this unless you can prove there is criminal activity or dire public harm?

Obviously those helping to publish this "leak" is simply an accomplice to theft or grand larceny.

You can copyright facts. That's why when someone publishes a fact like 1.2% CPI, they provide who the facts belong to. When there's a party creating this "fact", it is copyrighted.

I would like to rephrase my last post to inform our faithful shoppers that the actual price of a 60 pack of toilet paper is $63.49. A lawsuit will commence for the ability of this comment box to transmit faulty messages.

Wal-Mart rules you and your pathetic lives. You cannot defeat your master. Surrender or face the consequences. You are only wasting resources to take on our glorious overlord. Bow, you heathens. Bow down and accept 60 rolls of toilet paper priced at the always low price of $3.49

Mike:

ElevenMoms comprise the total number of people you will be offering babysitting services to once TechCrunch declares bankruptcy and goes out of business.

Or is your minor league affiliate publication, Venturebeat, next?

I can confirm that the eleven moms is actually the elf moms - I found their real address on go daddy here ===> http://www.santaslapland.info

You will notice I captured two of the elf moms busy at work in front of a christmas tree - clearly doing Santa's work - note: I have no proof that they are actually located in lapland but a reliable voice in my head says they are.

I shall be printing out the Wii coupon and taking it to my nearest Asda (Walmart in UK) - and demanding my Wii for £1.25 or whatever the dollar to pounds value is these days...

... An' Gawd bless ya govenor Arrington, with the money I save I will be able to buy a turkey for christmas after all...
