The world now has hope. It seems like God really might just have blessed America. Let's not speak to soon. At least there is now a higher benchmark for the Acumen/IQ of a President, so that if Arnie tries going for the job (despite the constitution) he will look ridiculous. Won't he?

the fact that 600,000 african americans ,that were registered last term and did not bother to give a shit about the country and vote, voted for Obama this time had ALOT to do with his winning too. Give credit where it belongs now.

What an election, glad it is finally over... I am disappointed that a liberal one, but am pleased that an african american did. I am also amused that in the shadow of all this, prop 8 etc went through. Hehe!

Also, the democrats have been denied a filibuster-proof senate, which is awesome...

I'd point out that Obama won by 5.3% of the popular vote. If this had been the other way around, there is no chance our liberal media would be calling it a "McCain landslide". No, then it would be a "very close finish" or whatnot.

I was impressed by McCain's concession speech - wonderfully composed. And I was amazed by the Obama campaign, the way they distorted so much truth to such a successful degree.

And finally, I am pleased that even in this forum, Obamatons do not have the only say. :)

But seeking support for your symbolic things anywhere u wish, abruptly in between TC blog dedicated for tech things? Like 2 previous blog posts by Michael Arrington - a strict NO.

@A Dolf Hit Lair -- "a metrosexual freak"? is going a little too far: Obama is just a totally unprepared half-black guy who came from nowhere, with no experience of any kind, no track record of any kind other than that of a slimy politician - Never in charge of anything... He is a made-up cartoon created by Hollywood and Madison Avenue.
It is sad that so many American minds are truly sucked-up and controlled by television...

Ironic statement: in Argentina the government just confiscated the citizens' private savings accounts, the equivalent of the US 401Ks and private money invested in mutual funds -- Why is it ironic? It is because the democrats in Congress just proposed similar actions as part of Obama's plan "to get there" -- Where is there? no one knows. Not even Obama...
It is part of the plan to have the federal government everywhere: socialized health care plus the "spreading the wealth" plan to steal money from hard-working successful Americans. Yes, "the world" is happy now... America will be just another poor socialist third world country, just like many others out there, whose citizens pretended to "vote" in the US elections.

"poor upbringing"???? He was never poor!! Went to the most expensive private school in Hawaii and later on to the most expensive law school in the US - accepted as part of a minority "quota"
He has been elected president, however it is downhill from here: no experience, no preparation, no clue. was never in charge of anything...It was all a show setup by Hollywood and Madison Avenue...

Obama winning will be great for small businesses. The economy will jump start, small businesses will prosper and become more efficient. I think some of them will even scale up to become lasting brands. Small businesses should now look to enhance the juice of the web and become more productive. Start investing in technological tools like Deskaway to manage your projects and workflows and communication better, use SlideShare to get yourself out there. Use Google Docs and collaborate and question your customers. This is the time for change. Keep reading TC however!!

Interesting. After having read many of these things id like to add in my 2 cents. I think after being drastically manipulated by geniuses such as Karl Rover (or whatever his name is) through mediums such as Bush, the rapid dissemination of information is finally off the leash of such a control freak govt this previous administration had established.

From bullshit such as the patriot act to invading Afghanistan (which had nothing to do with 911), i'm hoping we can shift away from lying to the govt. If people do not understand that most actions are money oriented, they are WRONG. Take a look at everything that has happened, and this PUBLIC WOULD EVEN REMOTELY CONSIDER LETTING ANOTHER MILITARY-RELATED DUDE NAMED MCCAIN TAKE OFFICE?????

you talk about obama's lack of experience, well shit im glad because thats less asses he has to kiss. Ofcourse he has some Corporate butt to kiss but i think the man will inspire people. Finally we can f*cking have a leader that we can be proud to say is ours, despite everything.

Empires come and go - even in clinton's time, its is innovation that took this country high> we are noway going to shift away from capitalism and you have to be a complete idiot to think that there is any other way to get out of this. The only thing we will see is an entrepreneurial approach to finance replace this oligopolistic crap that has completely ruined our stock market. Please open your mind and give this guy a chance - its not going to be about liberal or conservative bs but really about how we properly assess the political relationships in place and try , as a people, to make sure that the country is put first. a lotof CHANGE is definitely needed.

@Harish -- The last earning level was quoted by Joe Biden: "you make more than $42,000, you will pay more taxes" -- Not $250K, Not $120K!! It is $42K!!!
And by the way, we will pay more taxes to fund almost 1 Trillion in more entitlements and welfare proposed by... you know who: Obama.
You "I am not a racist!" liberal idiots....

AP has a fascinating graph showing the red and blue counties, rather than states. You will see the blue counties clumped together with vast miles of red in between.

Obama won by 3 states out of fifty. Had a certain three states gone to McCain, McCain would have won.

3/50ths doesn't seem to me to be a rout.

Or another way to calculate it is to see what percent of votes McCain lost by in certain states that would have sealed the victory for him. A 3% swing of Obama supporters over to McCain in significantly less than 50 states would have given McCain the win. Also not a rout.

But it definitely was decisive. Let's call it that.

No, Obamation's win will only elevate identity politics and divisiveness. America will take huge step backwards in the next four years.
