I have worked for over 30 years and have been layed off or fired only a few times and it was devastating for both my family and myself. One thing that happened every time, I got a better job. Just don’t give up, take a breather and keep on trying.

While I do think many companies are bracing for increase taxes or regulation, the economic struggles of Wall Street are a result of Economic deregulation of the Bush and Clinton eras. There will be difficult economic times for everyone even if McCain is elected. But those making less than $250 K may be better off under an Obama presidency. Unions support Democrats and McCain wants to export jobs overseas, so pick your poison.

They not only saw it, they actually pushed through the regs, and they have names! and they are still on Capitol Hill: Barney Frank [the gay elephant in the room], Christopher Dodd, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid et al. together with their comrades at Fannie Mae: Franklin Raines, who “made” $90M in five years, funneling some of that dough to the above mentioned creeps, *INCLUUDING* Barack Hussein…
BTW, Franklin Raines is now the “Messiah’s” financial advisor!!!
All these clowns deserve long jail times… but it is not going to happen. Why not? because they are all liberal Democrats, that’s why… Remember Slick Willie? indicted, convicted and impeached… and he continued to the President!!! You know why?…
Franklin Raines is getting away with *BIG* fraud and no one can say anything about it because he is a “bro” and doing so, fo course, would be racist!!!
The same situation as the Messiah: no one can ask anything about his past, his education, his accomplishments [none, by the way] just because he is half-black!!!

Todd’s right on one thing: the next President shouldn’t have to raise taxes.
Dubya should be man enough to take all the negative credit he’s run up, and revert them himself.
Halliburton et al could soften things by returning their war booty premiums.
As for the rating agencies, the profiteers of insustainability/suss instability, and the regulators who did the fixes after Andersen-Enron yet didn’t see/hear this funny money collapse coming.. they deserve a special tax regime till the bail-outs are repaid.

Fantastic to now learn what fairweather capitalists there are, literally leaving it to the rest. “Hasta la vista, baby” or time to close the border on the US side? Where are they getting the finance to relocate like that?

@Joel C, maybe there’s a client-base there also worth chatting to, with colleagues.. simply a thought.
