Any holiday is an excuse to be a little creative. Today, Halloween, is no exception.
Google, Yahoo, MSN and FriendFeed have special logos (who else?). Microsoft needs a little more inspiration in my opinion:
And Twitter went one step further, allowing users to add special Halloween themed Tweets using special character combinations. Just try >o< or `O` and see what happens.
I have to say that Google’s Halloween banner isn’t very impressive this year.
Mouse over the Google banner and you will see it was designed by Wes Craven.

Yahoo and MSN are pathetic. Why did they bother…oh, maybe because it took them a total of 48 seconds to come up with the design?
With the layers of management in those places I bet they started those designs in April

Google’s has used a cool graphic but the harsh contrast of the image’s border make for bad UI – A white page with blue text links and then this big colorful box at the top?
msn.com needs work, but I like the image on http://www.live.com in honor of the holiday – black crows on a dark tree branch. I like this much better than the Google image.
The still above doesn’t reflect that Yahoo!’s logo is animated –go to the site and put your mouse over the logo. A group of zombies dancing like the Thriller video? Made me laugh out loud.

The Yahoo rendition is quite slick! I’m looking forward to seeing Google’s logo come this Halloween.
I like the newly improved live.com which is now bing.com. The image is very impressive each day.
