As the owner of a new social network, http://www.jemple.com I obviously follow this stuff with interest.

The point is that the buzz is always around more functionality, more features, pushing the boundaries. What people forget, IMHO, is that joe public thinks typing a URL in is geeky. They want it simple, quick and fun -just like a woman should be (joke – no offence intended, that joke could apply to men as well!). I tried myspace 2.0 and it is a LOT of messing around.

My personal belief (and hope its right for my own sites sake!) is that there will be a backlash next year, as people get bombarded with ever more complex and time consuming fluff online. They will gravitate back to the more simple to use sites, leaving the tech-heads to get aroused over such nonsense as twitter.

I just ttried it and it dumped all my graphics and looked very boring. can’t believe people would opt for 2.0 instead. I went back to my original which looks a lot classier. I made own page and did not use anyone’s template.

go to profile editor they browse through your links which now go down the side if you have 2.0. on one of them will be basic information etc with some profile pictures of you. underneath the pictures will be a link saying publish customise or something ( i cant remember sorry) click on that. you will come to the 2.0 profile editor. at the top on the right is a link saying go back, click on the link and a box will come on giving you options. click on revert back to 1.0.

What if you don’t HAVE an undo button? I don’t know what happened, but I do NOT have an undo button on my page for this. I have tried going to several different edit pages, and there is no such thing on my page!!! Grrrr…*bangs head against wall* Stupid BS!!

Nevermind guys, I found out how to do it, go to the profile editor and then on the top right you can click “Go Back” and it will ask you if you want to stay on 2.0 or go back to 1.0.

Hey guys, does anyone have a step-by-step way to change your profile from 2.0 to the original?
I don’t like 2.0, especially the way you have to have your picture on the top like a flat bar, its disoriented and screws all my stuff up.
