SGN is definitely on to something with these Wii-like iPhone games. They’ve had over 2 million downloads of iGolf and iBowl. And tonight they’ve released the next game in the series, iBaseball (iTunes link).
Like the other games it’s free, and you use the accelerometer in your iPhone to control game play. The application includes applause and game sounds, vibrates when a hit is made, and supports left handed game play. You can also challenge your friends to play, asynchronously for now but with direct head-to-head play coming soon says CEO Shervin Pishevar.
More games are coming soon.

Worth trying out!
I find it extremely interesting despite not being much of a game fan.
Awesome. Go, SGN!
Business model = ?
The business model is to acquire enough hits, then pitch yourself for an acquisition
I can’t wait to hear you complain when you throw your iPhone right into your new HDTV screen play these retarded games.
At any rate, my little LA company Orj11 just hired people from ODesk. We’re actively developing the post-2008 meltdown socialnetwork/video aggregation system. 100% XHTML complaint, reverse proxy scalable, MVC architecture, and team support with a small but growing world wide team of professionals.
California is the promise land. If I was in Canada right now I would be drowning in out of proportion costs, taxes and employee incompetence. Those Canabecians work like 4 days a week and the keel over and die from exhaustion.
Should be
“I can’t wait to hear you complain when you throw your iPhone right into your new HDTV screen playing these retarded games. ”
I’ve heard so much annoying broken English in Canadia, I owe it to people not to spread the disease with typos. It literally made insane to hear “baked” pronounced as “bake” - … - … “ED” amongst other millions of mispronunciations every single day. It made me intolerant to uncorrected spelling mistakes.
“it literally made insane”… probably should reread your own comments before you post if you’re going to bag on broken English.
“Those Canabecians work like 4 days a week and the keel over and die from exhaustion.”
And all the fat, lazy Americans who sweat potato chip grease… they must be way more productive. Must be why your auto industry has been kicking ass for so long.
Chris, you’re a tool.
How long until they get sued when someone lets go of their iPhone and it smashes?
i am pretty sure their tos cover this.
Too bad they didn’t build a few hitters to get on base for Manny…the Dodgers should be called 8 deadbeats and Manny…
I cant wait to hear of pissed off blog posts because someone threw their iPhone into a cement wall while trying to throw a ‘110 MPH fastball’.
Or someone suing because they need Tommy Johns surgery…
how on Gods green earth do they make money?
This is a great find, and I am of course downloading it now, Mike. The suite of games is getting to be a lot of fun. Good thing I have a leather case on mine to grip it, or I would have already tossed my iPhone up a few airplane rows earlier this week.
shweeeeeeeeeet!
nice, just pitch 110 mph but bowling is the best. No doubt, I will break my iphone with these games. Already pulled a musle on igolf. they do make killer games.
I installed both igolf and ibowl on my iphone … they seem interesting when you read about them but not as interesting when you play them …. e.g. you feel completely bored doing same again and again in ibowl, there is no way to swing the bowl or anything …. i have lost interest in them … maybe its just me

Mmmmm - Baseball?
Is that a little like our Cricket??
How about iSquash ? Since I have no time to play the real game anymore …
Make the time before you tun into an iBlob, Peter!!!
I’ll play you at Squash next time I’m in Canada … a mini Commonwealth Games, baby.
Oh and for not being appropriately reverent to pretend sport - iSorry Michael.
More iPhone games that still haven’t sold me on the phone. The games are great, but I’d like to see some more actual apps.
You’re not supposed to do it in your car, Arrington.
Aw a nerd’s dream come to reality, being good at sports lol.
Wouldn’t you just chuck your iphone trying so hard?
Don’t believe what you hear on TechCrunch. There are a lot of good games on the iPhone, but SGN isn’t making them. These games have no realism, no imagination, nothing. It’s just “swing as hard as you can and see what happens.” I guarantee you’ll want to delete them in a week or less.
Lawrence: the one who acquires them (if at all) will end up with a bum deal.
This is amazing, and no — not the game. $20M in funding and the game looks like it was crafted by a single engineer-slash-designer.
Cmon… step it up.
Wow, this crowd is tough! I wasn’t expecting a lot for the price of FREE! But iGolf delivered, and I’m downloading iBaseball now… All I’m really looking for is a 5-minute escape to help me recharge a couple times a day. iGolf certainly hits that mark.
Still we at Hot Stix Golf recommend getting out of doors and playing sports without electronics… you know - open air, grass, trees, wind, etc…
