Sorry sundeep…. $1.5m for Kiva will not enable 60,000 more microloans in developing economies. Rather it will pay operating expenses in California. I’m a fan of microfinance, but have some issues with the way Kiva does it. I wrote more about it here http://thegoode...ur.blogspot.com

I agree with Kevin and Sundeep. “Loans that Change Lives” i.e. Kiva, is a powerful organization that is helping so many people in third world countries. I voted for them.

I agree with Kevin (granted, I used to work at Kiva Quick note: $1.5M for Kiva would enable $30 million more loans to fund 60,000 more entrepreneurs so that they can lift themselves out of poverty.

all the causes are wonderful and smart move by AmEx. i hope to see more companies run with philanthropic guerrilla marketing efforts since charities benefit and companies still promote their brands.
