Duh. It's as simple as that. They were doing their own (albeit poorly executed) version of this (well executed) video, which was super viral a year ago.

Why is everyone getting their panties up in a bunch about this? A bunch of rich peeps try to copy a popular video made by a bunch of (relatively) poor peeps from a year ago? Whooptie-do! Young people having fun.

Then again, if everyone stopped being so obviously jealous of other people's success we wouldn't have hundreds of comments like this and the internet wouldn't be so interesting.

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus? - NO SUCH PLACE!

37 percent of Cyprus is occupied by Turkey and no nation recognizes the so-called "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" because it is an illegal puppet regime of Turkey taken by force in the 1974 invasion.

The only comment I have about these people who made the video is that those who choose to vacation or build/buy vacation homes in the Turkish occupied territory of the Republic of Cyprus are aiding a regime that has murdered thousands and ethnically cleansed northern Cyprus of the native Greek population. Hundreds of churches have been vandalized and homes stolen from their owners for sale to foreigners.

One would think that these highly educated Internet executives would recognize their responsibility to be good world citizens and not promote the propaganda of this illegal regime. Shame on them!

I met Jessica (WSJ) a year or so ago at Web 2.0. She seemed so smart, albeit young. Seemed like she had worked hard and carved out a place at WSJ. I enjoyed our conversation. And now she's doing this? How, exactly, is WSJ explaining this? "Young people partying" -- however indiscreet or poorly-timed it might be -- is one thing. But a tech reporter for a major publication partaking?

Seems like both WSJ and Jessica have been tainted here. I'm frankly surprised that she hasn't been canned already. And I'll be even more surprised if she doesn't land on her hobbled feet in some Web 4.0 vid-rama show in which she can drink, snort, and/or kiss-ass in whatever manner she desires.

Goodbye, Jessica, and goodbye WSJ. You've both succeeded in eroding a fair portion of character here.
